Share photos and reviews on your Sephora Play Subscription Boxes here. If you're looking for reviews on any other box, look here: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Hauls/Subscription-box-photo-sharing/td-p/973905

The subscription program is only offered by invitation at the moment. If you have not received an invite, you can join the waiting list here: http://www.sephora.com/play

I do not have control over who receives invitations (whether they live in test cities or not), but I will edit this once the program opens to new groups.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

Sharpen it. The formula underneath may not be as dry. I know there are sharpeners inside the bigger ones, but I am unsure there are any in the small ones.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

Thanks! Had to shave off quite a lot but works better now.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

So i had never used the MJ highliner.  And i wanted to hate this stuff. I really did lol I wanted to not be able to justify the price point for it. BUT. The minute my box came i went straight to the office bathroom and put it on. It did not budge all day. SO. That being said, i would probably pay $50 for it because I have serious issues with keeping eye liner on my waterline. That stuff is AMAZING!! I had tried the BB hair primer in the past and i already loved it. The lip ink is awesome. I already have a couple of other shades and I really like the formula. The only problem that I have with it, at least on me, is it doesn't last as long as I would like it to. I am not a big fan of glam glow ( i know i know ) so that already has a new home to go to, and the Nirvana white was decent. I am wearing it today to see how i end up feeling about it!

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I am a long time fan of MJ Highliners and I regularly redeem the 100 point deluxe sample sizes whenever they're available (same size as in the Play box).

I was also lucky enough to pick up the Highliner LE set recently - totally missed out last year.

Did y'all notice the Highliners are totally out of stock on Sephora.com now?  I guess Play worked too well!  Smiley Wink

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

This eyeliner though....is seriously amazing. Love love love the formula!

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I was hoping the eyeliner would suck for the same reasons as you stated. Now I want to get the white one for my waterline. I have a problem with eyeliner in my waterline transferring onto my contact lenses. It's very annoying, especially when I'm driving.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I do love the MJ highliner.  I snagged a few when they were 100 point perks and loved them so much that I bought a full sized in the Luna(Tic) which is really pretty and glides on nicely but unfortunately doesn't show up color wise as much as I'd hoped on my eyelids.  The formula really is great though and if you like doing a smokey eye it smudges out really well.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I feel the same way as you about the MJ liner!! And that's definitely a brand I've never received in any other subscription box, so I was most excited to try that. I never usually end up buying full size products with any other subscription beauty boxes, but I have a feeling I will now... Smiley Very Happy

I had posted this photo in other Play! discussions, but here's a closer look at the products included for those who haven't received their box yet.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I don't usually end up buying full sized items of subscription box items either (not because I'm against it - I certainly would - but because most of the times the brands or items don't appeal to me), but I have a feeling it's going to happen a lot with Sephora Play if the first box is any indication.  I love MJ, Ole Henriksen, GlamGlow and some Bumble and Bumble products so the range of brands is definitely really appealing to me.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

All I was looking forward to in this box was the Trestique and Rahua.

I opened my box on Friday and planned to use Trestique to highlight under my eyebrows and SAME as many others.

The entire thing popped off when I first opened.

@Trestique  Get in here and Fix this!  pleeeeeeeease!  ;')

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

Oh this is a bummer.  Really happy I saw this post. I'm gonna be super careful opening mine. Sorry that happened @wheeeee 😰

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

Yea, I think the problem is that it just sits on top.   It is not twist-y like the BB/LM sticks.

That little bottom nub is not holding it in.  lol!!!!  Plus, it being a 'soft product' well it is messy!    @pixiedust2

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

@wheeeee Ok because of you I was prepared. I opened it super slow over a paper towel. It didn't fall out but was very wobbly in the stick. I pulled it out to see how it fit in. Then I just squashed it down in. So thanks for the warning.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

Glad to hear this!   @pixiedust2

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

this same thing happened to me, but I was able to gently place the product back in the stick and it works ok-ish now.

still not ideal :/ it's a really pretty color though!

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I got my box yesterday, two days earlier than expected. I didn't have any issues with the highlighter like everyone else seems to be having other than it doesn't look that glowy on me.

The Nudestix lip color is UGLY! I only swatched it on the back of my hand to see what the color truly looked like. Something I want to to try is to see if it can work as a contouring stick. I'm going to try that this weekend.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

Ok, so I tried using this as a contour stick. Nope. It would not blend out no matter how much I buffed and I used a dense brush. I wiped off what I could and fortunately my usual contour hid the evidence.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

@shyvicki the lip pencil is eye safe, so you could also use it as a shadow stick Smiley Happy

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I wondered about that. Thanks Smiley Happy

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I'm not even opening it -- in fact, there is ONE item in this box I can use, or want to use.  The skincare both break me out, and I almost always throw away the perfume, because it never smells good.  The last thing I need for my oily skin is a stick highlighter.

The hair mask is the only item I'll be using, which in my opinion, is not worth $10.

But yeah, that lip pencil is fug-lee.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I totally agree about the Nudestix color. I tried it on hoping it could look cool...nope makes me look scary!
