New to play , got 2 boxes , and I’m not impressed at all , let’s see what will get this month 🤞

I joined Play in oct and was so disappointed i called and said why did i get nothing but foundation samples..their reply we are sorry and gave me a credit and I unsubcribed because it did not compare to any other monthly subscrition I have.

I was then invited back in  DEC showing  some of the products , email stating I would get at LEAST ONE of the items..I GOT NONE and just wasted $10 ,..

IF you are curious I belong to BOXYCHARM. Birchbox, GLOSSY BOX, MACY's and FAB FIT FUN..despite being a little bit more money the samples are bigger but sometimes like BOXYCHARM they have terrible customer service and refuses to ever refund any monies so beware before you pick a longer subscription..

I’m really tired of getting the same stuff all the time. This is like the 4th time I’ve gotten the same bite beauty lipstick. I don’t even like the color and I have 4 of them. This is also the second time I’ve gotten the stila liquid eyeliner. I want to try more makeup and I always get repeat makeup or moisturizers.

I am fairly new to Play! maybe since September. I was a formal Ipsy customer. My question is, is it normal for me to receive an email with the products I'm getting, and then get completely different products when the box arrives? I feel like this has happend with the last 2 boxes and I'm weighing my options about going back to Ipsy.

Yeah I rarely get what is displayed in the sneak peak, but for me in general, my play boxes have always been worth it. I almost always get a mascara, which is awesome because I hardly ever need to buy any. And I’ve found a few holy grail items through play!

They claim the box contents are not always available, or guarnateed , and they can subsitute  items at anytime.

In fact I cancelled my subscription and purchased PAST or other months boxes based on pics with several available options. HOWEVER  the items you actually get are not the same in the pictures so basically they give you what they want...

I have also made purchases and discovered samples are also very skimpy and very limited these days ..and the rewards there is nothing I ever want that isnt SOLDOUT..

I sound like a SEPHORA Hater lol but you cant beat their customer service , price matching and FAST delivery....I JUST THINK THE PLAY BOX is really bad

That is why I switched from play to ipsy because I would receive emails saying I had such and such products and then different ones came in the box. I also thought ipsy was a better deal. Just wanted to give you some info from my experience. I love sephora, I just didn't like that the play box didn't come with the products shown in the email

Thanks for the info! I left Ipsy right before they increased their price, but then let you pick an item. I also felt like Ipsy tailored items to suit me better then again I was also a member for years. I wanted to give Play! a chance bc I do love Sephora, just not sure how long to wait for the wow factor lol

if you want a chance to pick an item every month after joining  then  BOXYCHARM is for you..however you only have 24 hours to pick..

In addition they just added a new feature in which they sent out foundation samples and have you match your shades, and then report your preference online and they then claim they will use these to select your products for you a little better..

this was my first and last play box.... definitely not interested in anything that I recieved.. also, the lip oil was oozing out. I was really hoping for a box with much better items than #298.

I used to have play, I switched to ipsy, but I had something similar happen with a ruined product and I just called customer service and they sent out a brand new product right away and a 50 points card. They're really good with giving replacements for damaged products

I am so done with this subscription. I have been with Sephora play for about as long as it has been around and its either been hit or miss. This last box is a miss. I will be cancelling so I don't get charged for this again. I was really hoping for something nice like the bag they did at the end of year last of the year before......basic stuff as usual with no little thank you for being s subscription holder for the longest and a little something for it being this time of year...nothing...so I will be sending my coins to another subscription...It would have been nice to be able to at least choose one of my products if not all...do better Sephora..

I so agree. This is one of the worst boxes ever. Really Sephora...end of year and I get yet another mascara, my 3rd Fresh soy cleanser, another Bobbi Brown eye shadow stick in the same golden pink color, and shampoo/conditioner for thick hair and volume, when I have curly hair and a lot of it. Do you even look at my profile before sending products? I think Sephora has gotten greedy and complacent. I'll only $83 from getting Rouge status....I may think twice. If January's box isn't higher quality, I'll cancel. But it is painfully obvious even when you get these complaints that you don't value loyal customers. Someone will take my place when I cancel, and it will be their turn to be disappointed.

Same. I also have Ipsy as well and will definitely be cancelling Sephora. I'm so tired of getting the same products and a million mascaras. Love that u can personalize Ipsy AND choose one of your products. You also get a reusable makeup bag each month not just a plastic bag. And why are we spending $10 on each sephora "mystery" box when non subscribers pay $9 and get to choose exactly which box they want. I'm done. I rather spend a little more for Ipsy..and love the add on option each month! For January's box I already chose the full size Huda beauty obsessions pallet! And I added on some brushes!

FYI i thought same as you and purchased 6 boxes from the past months yet only 1 came like the pic...

when i called sephora they said nothing  items can be substituted at anytime and we have no control over it.

NOW  several of my PURCHASED MYSTERY boxes are now on sale for $8 lol

seriously I'm so stoked with what I got in my play box. I am so happy can't wait to try all these products love everything in my box but I'm really excited about the Sol de Janeiro bum bum cream. seriously have heard so much about this cream. but now I have the opportunity to try it. thank you Sephora loving my play box💗💗💗
