Birchbox vs. Sephora Play?

Has anyone tried both? I currently have birchbox but I'm wondering if Sephora Play is better? Let me know what you think!

I’ve never had the Birchbox but I heard it’s a good subscription for if you want to start a make up collection or if you want to try out new products and you get full size products even eyeshadow palettes. I used to have Ipsy but I liked my Sephora subscription wayyyy better so I canceled Ipsy.

I have been getting Birchbox for about 7 months now and ipsy for about a year. I just got my first play box in December and I am honestly pleased more with the play box then the birchbox. I think that Birchbox is cool because with the beta trial you could pick what you get out of a list of different boxes for 5 bucks more then the regular box but, I don't like that they give more hair and skin cleaning and styling items then make up and tools. I love ipsy because they give me a happy medium of all of the beauty essential needs instead of heavy in 1 category or another. I love that play gives a fragrance in every box even though alot of people don't I have always have an extensive perfume wardrobe though. I hate wearing only 1 brand because I get use to it and can't smell it myself anymore, so changing it up every so often keeps my nose fresh for them all and I hate buying based off of only smelling it for a little bit. so I appreciate getting the chance to sample them for a couple days in my everyday life and ipsy hasn't ever given me a fragrance for any of my bags an neither did Birchbox. so for the next couple of months I'm not going to get Birchbox and I'm going with Sephora play to see what one I like better. I don't see myself stopping ipsy any time soon tho I buy alot of the ipsy offers that a new one gets posted every week day and I love being able to buy stuff with my extra points and they come extra in my ipsy bag. I've gotten hair dye, and facemasks for free with my points and with the ipsy offers I've gotten like a 6 item theme kit for like 8 bucks, whole 15 PC brush sets for 10 bucks, I just got a kiss hot comb for 18 bucks that's normally 54 bucks. they have the best stuff.lol I also get the Walmart box that is 5 bucks but there is only 4 boxes a year 1 for every season and I want to try the target 1 I heard it's good but every time I try to get it it's sold out and the allure box looks like a good 1 too. my husband will only tolerate so many at 1 time without flipping out on me so I have to buy in moderation lol. I am definitely addicted to subscription boxes lol. oh and I'd your into earrings you should check out earfleek you get a pair of earrings every month for 7 bucks and the first pair you can get for like 3.40.

I don't like birchbox I kept getting a lot of random things that weren't beauty products so I cancelled. The target box is amazing! I have ipsy which I like a lot too. And still haven't gotten the Sephora playbox but I want to.... I keep hearing a lot of mix reviews though.

Play is better! I still have my Birchbox and I’m getting over it, I cancelled my Ipsy to cause I never used anything except the bags

I've had Ipsy, Birchbox, and FabFitFun, all 3 for over a year. I canceled Ipsy and Birchbox b/c I kept getting repeat products, and Ipsy kept giving me lip products in the wildest colors, like black, purple, and green. Birchbox didn't send makeup products often. And Ipsy quit sending perfume samples. I discovered Sephora Play, and canceled FabFitFun too. Now, all I have is the Play box. It's all I need. I've purchased several of the samples I've received. Never did that with Ipsy or Birchbox. Only bought one thing from FFF, and it wasn't from a sample I got, just something I saw on their website. The Kopari Coconut Sheer Oil, and I will tell you, it's worth every penny!

Play is better than Birchbox by far. The items you get aren’t as customizable as Play or Ipsy. I ended up getting a lot of dry shampoo samples. If I could describe the boxes, I’d say they were pretty boring. I am now doing Play and Ipsy, and I love them both, to me those two are similar. Didn’t have Birchbox long before I cancelled

I don't have birchbox but I have ipsy. I think play is way better than ipsy. I love my boxes.

I've used both Play! And Birchbox. Play! is leaps and bounds better than Birchbox, which tends to repeat products often, either the exact product or very similar items (too many dry shampoos and mascaras)

I did Birchbox for 3 months ( just recently cancelled) it was okay I really love the play box I just bought the make up forever foundation that came in the last play box (it's amazing btw) I chose to keep ispy and play and let go of BB for the reason the products they sent I wouldn't use them again. Just not all that impressed.

I like ipsy and Sephora Play over Birchbox any day. I get 2 ipsy bags and gift the 2nd bag with all the stuff I do not want. Plus, I use the ipsy bags as a clutch and/or travel makeup holder. ^__^
