Beyond disappointed with my first Play box

Clearly most people are disappointed with this months box. Does this happen often with colors being so off?

While the Play box is customizable there are only a certain number of variations that they release each month.  Of course everyone who selects "light" as their skin tone isn't the same shade so when they include a complexion product it's inevitable that the product will work for some but not others

Gotcha... I'm new to this so I guess my next question is do they send a lot of complexion products in their boxes? I will have to reconsider my subscription if this becomes a monthly thing. I love Sephora and the benefits I get from my points. I guess I just had higher expectations than what I received.

I had light listed in my profile. I receive the tarteguard tinted moisturizer in june and in matched me well. I got the KVD concealer this month but it did not match me well. However, I dont think sephora play will include many complexion related items anymore, as there were a lot of complaints on that this month. I love my tarteguard tinted moisturizer though so im really glad i got it.

@Lcarr87  No worries!  I had similar expectations when I joined the subscription and have since wavered back & forth about continuing.

It depends on your skintone (which I know is an odd response).  I am of a deeper skin tone and I have never received a foundation or concealer since I joined play ~7-8 months ago.  Off the top of my head subscribers with lighter skin tones have received complexion products 2 or 3 times.  Now if you consider other color items like lipstick they do seem to select shades that are flatter lighter tones.  Hope that helps!!
