help me find products!!!

i need help finding a makeup routine for my oily acne prone skin if anyone has any recommendations that would be great!!! or if anyone has any skincare recommendations!! thank you!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Re: help me find products!!!

Skin prep is the most important part when trying to keep the oil at bay throughout the day!!!

Make sure to wash your face as your first step before your makeup. Even if you cleansed before bed and just woke up, splashing water on your face isn't enough. You face will already have a layer of oil and you will need to cleanse.

We get oily because our skin is dehydrated and our body produces excess oil to combat that. So try a facial oil instead of a moisturizer under your makeup. I know this sounds crazy but...

Oil and oil cancel each other out. It will help keep oil production down and can help the foundation from oxidizing throughout the day and changing color. Try Sunday Riley Juno Antioxidant + Superfood Face Oil

At the end of the day, since you are acne prone, I would make sure to double cleanse.  First start with oil cleanser, this will help break down makeup products on your face. Then go in with your normal cleanser.

Re: help me find products!!!

Cleansing (Twice Daily):

Product: Look for a gentle, foaming cleanser that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. These ingredients help to unclog pores and reduce acne.

Toning:

Product: A toner with ingredients like witch hazel, niacinamide, or glycolic acid can help balance oil production and remove any residual impurities.

Treatment (Optional):

Product: If you have active acne, spot treatments with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid can be beneficial. For overall treatment, consider products with niacinamide or retinoids.

Moisturizing (Morning and Night):

Product: Choose a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer that won’t clog pores. Look for non-comedogenic labels.

Sunscreen (Morning)

Product: A non-comedogenic, mattifying sunscreen with at least SPF 30 is essential.

Exfoliation (2-3 Times a Week):

Product: Use a chemical exfoliant with AHA/BHA to help remove dead skin cells and prevent clogged pores.

Makeup Routine for Oily, Acne-Prone Skin

Primer:

Product: A mattifying primer can help control shine and keep your makeup in place.

Foundation:

Product: Opt for an oil-free, non-comedogenic foundation with buildable coverage.

Concealer

Product: A full-coverage, long-lasting concealer is great for covering blemishes..

Setting Powder:

Product: A translucent, mattifying powder will help set your makeup and control oil throughout the day.

Blotting Papers:

Product:

These are handy for controlling shine during the day without adding more product to your skin.

Setting Spray:

Product: A mattifying setting spray can help lock in your makeup and reduce shine.

Additional Tips: Clean Brushes Regularly: Dirty makeup brushes can harbor bacteria, leading to more breakouts. Hands Off: Avoid touching your face throughout the day to prevent transferring oils and bacteria. Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.
