Gel Liner for Oily Lids

Hey everyone! I've been using liquid liner for the past year and wanted to try something new. I've decided to get into gel liner but been having ZERO luck! I have Smashbox, Maybelline EyeStudio, and Wet N' Wild but none of them work. They either smudge or transfer to the top of my lid. It looks like I have major raccoon eyes! I just don't want to invest anymore money in liners that don't work!

I've also tried looking at MUFE eyeliner that everyone's talking about and I can't find it on the site.

Thanks in advance!

HeYyY Lylysa!!

Ahhh thank you lol! I found baby powder in my bathroom and thought "Why no give this a try!" LOL I was actually going to pick up Too Faced's Prime & Poreless Powder next time I'm in Sephora for just a finishing powder but since now I could also use it for my oily lids I might have to get it so0oner!!

Yes Blotting Sheets! That's what I was trying to say. That's a go0od point though to use fragrant free ones so0o not to irritate the eyes. (Mine are super sensitive, thank you for that tip!)

Re: Gel Liner for Oily Lids

I'm fortunate enough to have tried Marc Jacobs new Magic Marc'er Precision Pen before its launch.  Its waterproof, super dark, and gorgeous!  The entire line launches in a week, give that one a try Smiley Happy

Re: Gel Liner for Oily Lids

The Laura Mercier gel liner is the best one I have tried BY FAR!!! I have oily lids also and it stays on amazing!!!

Re: Gel Liner for Oily Lids

It's not the eyeliner that's the problem. Make sure you use a shadow (it can be matte and your skin color if you don't want it to show up) all over the lid. This will stop your liner from printing (transferring to the top of the lid).

If you're not into using shadow, what I love to do is use a transformer fluid (like Trish McEvoy Finish Line) to turn my powder eyeshadows into liners. Apply with an angled brush like you would with your gels. The Finish Line sets the shadow and it lasts all day. It's also cool because for 20 bucks, you've got as many liner colors as you have shadows. Smiley Very Happy
