Correct shades for contouring

How do you go about picking the right shades for contouring and highlighting? I canโ€™t ever get it right, and I look pale in pictures lol. Help.

Re: Correct shades for contouring

Hi @leia808 ! I totally feel your pain LOL when finding a contour shade it took a lot of trial and error before I could settle on what worked best for me.

When you contour, keep in mind that you are trying to add a shadow to the natural hollows of your face so look for more cooler-toned shades in whatever formula you prefer (powder or cream). Since I'm light-skinned, I have loved and almost hit pan on Profusion Cosmetics Contour Pro Makeup Case (the Light Contour shade in the center is perfect on my skin tone). I sometimes layer it over Fenty Beauty's Match Stix Matte Skin Stick in Amber. You can always add warmth to your face over it with a bronzer, which always helps make you look less pale, too. Of course, blush over that is another step in giving your face a little more color.

For highlights, I love the advice that Wayne Goss gave in a recent video. I'll link it here (https://youtu.be/dSeYkYAMf0o) but basically he says what are the best highlighters for your skin tone and offers these as his suggestions:

Hope this has helped!
