BEST PRIMER?

I currently use Loreal's true match mousse concealer and I am planning to buy a product that helps with a couple of flaws I have.

1)Oily skin - After 2 hours or so, my skin becomes VERY oily and shiny. I would love a product to help my make up stay on for the whole day.

2)Big Pores - I have huge pores and I want a product to help me make them not visible .

3)REDNESS - This is my biggest problem. After I wash my face and apply vaseline lotion it becomes red on my cheeks and ESPECIALLY on the edges of my nose. The redness is somewhat a very light rosacea.

PLEASE HELP AND LIST SOME PRODUCTS DOWN BELOW !

I am a 16 yr old teen looking to spend under $40.

Re: BEST PRIMER?

If I had to choose a primer under $40, I agree that the Porefessional by Benefit is fantastic for reducing the appearance of pores.

If you upped your budget to $52, (I know...sticker shock BUT there is a smaller, travel/sample size for $18.00 that you could try out first) I would recommend the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer SPF 15. First, this primer is amazing at controlling oil production and is ideal for oily skin types. It also light-diffusing, meaning that when light shines on the face, this primer serves to soften the appearance of pores, discoloration (like redness!) and other imperfections. The SPF is just a bonus in my opinion. I, too, have oily skin and this is my holy grail of primers! Also, in reference to the price of $52, the 1oz size will last for quite a bit. I have had mine since January and I am still far from halfway through my container; one pump is a truly generous amount to cover your entire face.

Best of luck in your primer hunt!!

Re: BEST PRIMER?

I use Smashbox Photo Finish foundation primer in light.  It's the best for oily skin because it contains no oil like the other Smashbox primers.  It's colorless so you don't have to worry about that, LOL!

I suggest using Tarte's Clean Slate 12hr Poreless Perfecting Primer. I currently use it and I have all those problems you listed. I always feel good about using Tarte because of all the natural ingredients they put in their products. They put a little bit of skincare in everything. It really helps to keep my face matte and diffuses my pores/lines. It is $34.

Re: BEST PRIMER?

Hi! This is well over your $40 budget but these are the best products you can use (based on what you just described your skin to be). For the big pores, Benefit's PoreFessional is what I've found to be the best. Apply it under foundation but on top of an oil-free moisturizer. For the primer AND redness issue; I would recommend Smashbox's Color Correcting face primer. (it's green). Any Smashbox primer is the best of it's kind, so whichever one you think suits your skin best is the one you should purchase. Other from that, Maybelline has a green color-correcting concealer stick that I've found to work well. Hope this helps!
