Advice needed

Hi

I'm wondering if I can use vitamin C to clear acne?

thanks

Re: Advice needed

@ionianblue Vitamin C is a great component but as mentioned by other lovely BIC-ers it's usually intended for brightening as someone who suffers from acne sporadically at times I really enjoy vitamin C in the morning. Some of the greatest acne fighting products that can be found here at sephora are:

OLEHENRIKSEN Balancing Forceโ„ข Oil Control Toner 6.5 oz/ 193 mL I use this as a toner and/or spot treatment. It's very intense but I find it refreshing and it really works.

Kate Somerville Anti Bac Acne Clearing Lotion 1.7 oz quite a gentle moisturizer for what it is, really helps my skin when I use it.

Why thank you Queen๐Ÿ‘ธ๐Ÿ˜„

Re: Advice needed

@ionianblue Haha! ๐Ÿ˜‚I sometimes forget I made my handle that on here years and years ago. Hope that you got some interesting recommendations off this thread ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Advice needed

@ionianblue Vitamin C isn't usually used as an acne treatment and I don't know if it will help with acne. Vitamin C is an antioxidant more for dull skin and lightening dark marks.

Here is an blog post on Vitamin C written by a board-certified dermatologist (replace DOT with . ๐Ÿ˜ž dermtalkdocs DOT com/2020/10/07/all-about-vitamin-c-in-skincare/ . There are other resources online on Vitamin C use. I use The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% 1 oz/ 30 mL for my facial dark marks and PIH (so post-acne).

Re: Advice needed

I'll order that next thanks

Re: Advice needed

Vitamin C isn't really an acne treatment, @ionianblue so it's doubtful that it would have much of an impact. More typical acne fighters would include things like BHA, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, retinol... but it can depend on your skin, what is causing your acne, and what other products are in your routine.
