@ather Thank you 😊. I would change the order from light to dark or vise versa. I like skittles to look ombre if all one shade 💜

@itsfi Thank you! Blurple is such an accurate description for these Skittles. My favourite shade is the one on my ring finger. It is a deep blurple shade. This photo does not capture how pretty it is irl. It was my first time trying 3 of the polishes here.

@Titian06 Thank you! Oh yes this is very daring for me! My favourite shade is the ring finger shade. It is more beautiful IRL. If I did this mani again, I would change the placement from dark to light or vise versa. I guess that is the downside about not having nail polish swatches. They looked a lot different in the bottles vs on my nails.

@Mellmars1185 - Yes!  Once I started making swatches, I became much better at choosing combinations.  Now when wish I had changed the order, it's usually a preference.

I use two coats of polish for my swatches regardless of the type of polish plus a top coat.  Some people like to polish under the swatch stick and use the top as their "top coat."

Edit:  I'm excited for you!  It's fun watching all your polishes come to life!  I store my swatch sticks by color in empty (obviously) hair mask jars.

@Mellmars1185 - The other thing that's helpful is a label maker.  I've had mine for 20 years(?)  I got it at Office Max.  It's a Brother; they make good ones.  The only problem is the label tape is a smidge wider than the swatch stick and doesn't come any narrower, so I have to manually trim the edges because that's just how I am. 🤣

@Titian06 Smart idea and excellent suggestion with the label maker. I think we have one but it is not very good. It sounds like you are very organized!

@Mellmars1185 - I also keep a spreadsheet.  You might want to think about doing that at the same time.  (Sorry, just thought of that.)  I color coded each color.  I can easily see where I have more or less colors or if I'm looking for a specific color (sometimes I remember the color, but not the brand or color name).

@Titian06 Great idea! I think that would be so helpful. I think I have too many of one colour💜 because a large part of my collection is in my bedside table. All of the polishes are so close together that I can barley see them. I am looking forward to more coordinated skittles manis in the future 🤓

Here's my next, next mani (I skipped posting one).

Thumb & Ring:  Orly Oasis.  Teal jelly.  Three easy coats.  Two were almost opaque, but I was curious what three coats would look like.

Index, Middle, & Pinky:  Color Club We'll Never be Royals.  Purple with red and orange shift.  Two easy coats.

Stickers:  Deco x Sephora.

I had not intended for this to look Christmas-y! 🙄
