There's nothing wrong with short nails, @MichaelaJones !  I used to play piano and had to keep them super short.  I also used to bite mine too.  Keeping them polished is how I stopped biting them.  I no longer bite my nails, but I still keep them on the shorter side because I do a lot of typing.
