I’m jealous of all your nails, everyone in this thread. Here is my struggle. Cuticles. I have an illness that prevents me from being able to cut my cuticles during a manicure. I will get an infection without a doubt within a day or two. It doesn’t matter if I’m at a 5 star spa, it will happen. That’s the whole point of your cuticles is to prevent bacteria from entering the matrix of your nail. I feel like I can’t wear nail polish because my hands are gross. I want to wear pretty nail polish, but what the heck do I do with my cuticles?! 😕

Douse them with oil, let it sit for a bit, then push them back as best you can. Cuticles aren't supposed to be cut anyways (not that that has ever stopped me though lol). There are also cuticle exfoliators out there, but I've never really used one. I hear the Sally Hansen one (Instant Cuticle Remover) is good though, if you wanted to try it. I think you just let it sit for a few seconds and then you can mostly push/rub off the excess cuticle?

My cuticles are fine, but my nails are really short, they just keep splitting and breaking. I use nail polish stickers, I buy mine from a company online that has tons of designs. They work great! The ones I use are made out of real nail polish. Didn't want to post the company name here because they're not sold at Sephora, but they work great and last at least 10 days. I wonder if they would work for you? Just don't place them on top of your cuticles and they should be fine.

@RGbrown, thanks! Just didn't want to break any rules. I use Colorstreet nail stickers and I swear by them. You can watch YouTube videos of how to apply them but they are SUPER easy to use and come off with regular nail polish remover. The fun designs help camouflage my short peeling nails!

Thanks, I'll have to look them up! Sally Hansen used to make some years ago and they were quite fun to use every now and again...I liked having fancy designs without the work (not to mention my complete lack of ability to do much more than a basic one-color paint job lol)

Roseanna Danna by Bear Pawlish

My sis cleaned out her polish collection not too long ago and gave me three from this brand. Looks like they closed up in 2016, but made some downright awesome stuff, and I'm sad I didn't know about them before...but I'm happy to add these to my collection 💖

It's cloudy and grey outside, but I managed to capture some of the sparkle indoors with flash. This one is a red jelly base loaded with small holo and medium red glitter. Chunky glitter isn't always a good thing to me, but this one turned out really well, and I like it bunches ✨

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Coral Reef, topped with Spa Ritual Luminary Matte Top Effect in Opaline

Meh. Coral isn't my fave to begin with, but I figured I'd give it a shot for spring. Still not my fave. And the Spa Ritual was a bit disappointing...it's got iridescent flakes in it, but they barely show up in *any* lighting, even direct sun, and for the most part, it just looks like cloudy particles in my polish. And the matte finish was dusty looking, so I had to follow up with clear coat to cancel that out. Perhaps it would work better over a darker polish, so I'll give it another go that way one of these days.
