Sakura/Cherry Blossom Nails

Hanami- the viewing of Sakura/Cherry Blossoms is going on at the moment. It's a Japanese tradition looking at the beauty of flowers and I want a Sakura manicure. I need some ideas. I might be going to a Japanese nail salon since they know how to do their nail art and they'll be doing it in gels. Should I go 3D (which would not be good when I have a swim meet) or just go for a normal 2D?

I won't be using the Sephora Formula X Cherry Blossom polish since it's a bit scattered. Smiley Sad

upload_8752164841587512651.jpgI actually did this myself last year, and I've done it quite a few times with pink and green and blue in the background instead of white. It's a little sloppy since I took this picture when I was just getting into nail art and didn't really get it. lol

Re: Sakura/Cherry Blossom Nails

Pretty - I totally know what show this is from though. I'm such a nerd Smiley Happy

Re: Sakura/Cherry Blossom Nails

Whoops, I realized they might be Nadeshiko blossoms than Sakura.

Oh the irony. (If you guys know this anime)

Re: Sakura/Cherry Blossom Nails

Hi tehprincessjenn!

You can do both! You can always get a small Sakura on one finger as opposed to all of them.  I think that would be super cute and shouldn't get in the way of your swimming. Smiley Happy

I was actually there last year and I just missed them blooming - they came early. Smiley Sad Hopefully one day I'll be able to see them there! (We have them here in San Francisco but it's not the same!)

Re: Sakura/Cherry Blossom Nails

The first one is so pretty! Smiley Happy Thanks!

Re: Sakura/Cherry Blossom Nails

I like 2D. It'll last longer and be less awkward to do things. Plus, they can stylize the flowers more.

Re: Sakura/Cherry Blossom Nails

I think 2D will look good for cherry blossoms. I googled Cherry Blossom nails and it looks like most are 2D. I think if you did 3D (assuming the 3D part is the flowers) it might be a little too much since there are a lot of flowers.

Re: Sakura/Cherry Blossom Nails

Yeah, it would be bulky and hard to find. Also I have really, really small nails and fingers! Smiley Sad

Re: Sakura/Cherry Blossom Nails

Oh man, I do too. It's the worst for nail designs!
