Nail Terminology

I really don’t like matte nail polish. If it’s not matte, what is it? What’s the term for basic nail polish?

Re: Nail Terminology

@Anonymous

Cream finishes are your basic/normal glossy-without-shimmer polishes. Then there's shimmer, foil, glitter, holo, and of course matte (and mattes can have some sort of sparkly/shimmer/glitter element to them as well)...all sorts of possibilities and options 😊

Re: Nail Terminology

Hi @Anonymous, I would say glossy for your typical polishes! And then, depending on the finish of the specific polish, it could also be pearly or metallic.
