What’s the best primer and foundation for Rosacea?

I developed rosacea about 5 years ago, I pretty much quit doing my makeup because nothing I did helped, I’m getting back into doing my makeup again (thanks to my daughter) so any and all suggestions will be appreciated

RE: What’s the best primer and foundation for Rosacea?

Had you tried hourglass’s mineral veil primer? It’s supposed to sooth redness and irritation while working for all skin types. It has sunscreen in it so if that’s a trigger avoid it of course. Always make sure your foundation and primer match silicone or water based also. You can always grab up some samples in store and experiment with what works for your skin concerns.

Thank you @ChristineR07 I will give those a try and see how I fair, I have combination skin so it’s been hard, my cheeks and nose where my rosacea is are dry but everywhere else is oily

Hey @newbie77! I have rosacea as well, so hopefully, this will help some.

I currently use the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer.  It's moisturizing so it helps combat the surface dehydration we often deal with (especially if we're using a topical treatment).

Then, just in the areas where I have crazy pores (right around my nose and the center of my forehead), I apply a bit of the Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer. I can use this one all over but it seems to be less hydrating. This just, for me, does a better job at smoothing my pores.

Finding the right foundation has been a bit longer of a process. I feel like I've tried practically everything in the store. My favorites are the CoverFX drops (I just mix them with my primer and am good to go) or the Too Faced Born This Way foundations. They just seem to work best for my skin type, texture and skin tone.
