If you want a few additions to your merman look, go for more sparkle. Also grab some fishnets and place them on the side of your face, pick a few scale like colors and use the fishnets to create scales! It's fun and is something I've done for creativity before.
No limits to creativity once you get started. Enjoy your journey!
