Smashbox orange is my personal go to. I will apply it straight on the area then use an angled foundation brush to blend the edges. It pretty much makes the beard and mustache shadow disappear. And, it's inexpensive.

Re: Color correcting beard

I use a Stila Color Corrector it's creamier but blends smoothly.

Re: Color correcting beard

For any client that I have had that I've done a beard cover up (neutralized the area before adding foundation) I usually use the Sephora brand Color corrector in the shade "Orange/Deep." I usually apply this, set it lightly with loose powder, and then go in with a Med//full coverage foundation. The Urban Decay corrector fluids are also good.

This also varies on your skin tone, however. If you are deeper skin tone, you can even use a burnt orange colored matte lipstick. I have used some from Urban Decay or Sephora collection.
