Help!! iT cc cream..

Just purchased iT CC cream. Direction says re apply every 2hrs?? Really?!

I was looking for a minimal foundation and this was recommended. Now I'm on the fence. Anyone out there that uses the iT CC cream color correction full coverage cream tell me their thoughts. Does it last at least 8hrs. Do I really need to RE APPLY?

Re: Help!! iT cc cream..

if you're looking to maintain the benefits of the sun protection then anything with SPF you need to re-apply. spf only last for so long, but i dont reapply my sunscreen moisturizer, so its really up to you. if only they could put spf in some type of refreshing spray so it would be easier to re-apply without disturbing the makeup.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Looking for foundation. Sunscreen is a plus but I stay out of the 🌞 good to know

Re: Help!! iT cc cream..

@JMC184 The SPF doesn’t only protect your skin from the sun, it’s also been shown to work as an anti-ager, so if a product has SPF, that doesn’t need to be dealbreaker. IT Cosmetics CC Cream is a great product and I wear it everyday when I’m looking for coverage. I’m not sure if you’ll be continuing your search for something else, but there are many foundations that contain SPF as an ingredient. Unless you’re specifically looking for it or avoiding it due to a sensitivity or allergy, it doesn’t really make that big of a difference in the preformance of the product as a foundation. So when looking for foundation, consider how it performs and feels on your skin - is it covering the way you want it to. That’s what’s most important!

Re: Help!! iT cc cream..

@JMC184 I’d just like to reinforce what @lachaton and @skcfan have said. Because physical sunscreen is an ingredient, it’s required to have a certain type of label, similar to what you’d see on any bottle of sunscreen. Since most people aren’t using cosmetics as their primary source of sun protection, it does seem a little alarming to purchase makeup with “instructions.” Any foundation with SPF will have the same sort of label. I wear IT Cosmetics CC Cream and it works perfect fine for normal sun protection. As a foundation, I love it for medium to full coverage. I find it a bit heavy for light coverage though, so in the summers I wear something lighter. On days I need legit sun protection, I’m likely not wearing a full face of makeup anyway and stick with regular old sunscreen.

Re: Help!! iT cc cream..

Hi @JMC184

I'm not familiar with the directions which suggest reapplying the IT CC cream every 2 hours, but my strong suspicion is that that suggestion would be If you were relying on the CC cream for complete SPF sun protection since the cream has SPF 50. I've worn the cream for the day while at work and haven't had any problems with it wearing off quickly.

Re: Help!! iT cc cream..

Great. I was looking for a go to foundation. I’m not a sun person so I thought it was a good benefit. Thanks for replying.

Re: Help!! iT cc cream..

@JMC184 The ‘reapply every 2 hours’ is because there is sunscreen in it, so that label is required by the FDA (or Canadian version of the FDA). You should reapply every 2 hours of sun exposure (so if you’re in your office all day out of the sun then you shouldn’t need to reapply) to get the stated spf level.

Honestly, I always wear a separate sunscreen product because I don’t think the amount of makeup product you wear is enough to get the stated spf anyways.

Re: Help!! iT cc cream..

I wanted a foundation that would look ( natural but flawless). Sunscreen was a plus but not my source of protection, glad I don’t have to re apply thru out the day. Who’s guy time for that 🤪I agree sunscreen is not your make up 🙃 Thanks for replying.
