how to choose foundation

Does anyone have any advice on how African American should choose foundations? I am new to makeup and I am having a difficult time finding the right shade seeing as my skins ranges in shades. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

At Sephora you can scan for your shade of foundation which will show what foundations will fit you or just ask an employee for foundation match. New fenty beauty foundation is $42 and it's worth it. Comes in 40 shades so I hope you find yours!
