What products did you wind up NOT purchasing during the Spring Sale?

This is a thread for us to discuss products that we wound up not purchasing during the Spring Sale.  It could be because we were on the fence about a beauty product, were on a low-buy, or just had enough goodies to last us for a while.

I think it's interesting to learn what others actually bought, as well as what others held off on.

Well, I’m bummed that Sephora USA carries Dermaflash Pore thing that I WANT SO BAD and cannot find anywhereeeeee. So, I did not purchase that *stomps feet* but would have gladly given Sephora my money to clean my pores with that magic wand. lol I’m clearly not bitter that U.S.A. gets all the cool stuff.

What a fun thread @greeneyedgirl107! I passed on a few items this time around:

-I wanted to pick up more Bobbi Brown Crushed Oil-Infused Tinted Lip Gloss Free Spirit or try the LANCôME - L'Absolu Mademoiselle Lip Balm, but I made a concerted effort in this sale to buy from cruelty-free companies. Instead I bought two shades of the Tower 28 Beauty ShineOn Lip Jelly Hydrating Non-Sticky Lip Oil Magic

-I skipped my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil Perversions to try out some of Linda Hallberg's crayons, because I've never bought from her before and she offered a 30% discount. 

-The FRESH - Sugar Hydrating Lip Balms look good enough to eat, but I *hate* jars for lip products. I know it's weird, but getting product under my fingernails gives me the heebie-jeebies!

-I wanted to try the Verb Ghost Weightless Shampoo for Fine Hair 12 oz/ 355 mL and Verb Ghost Conditioner for Fine Hair 12 oz/ 355 mLbecause I'm not thrilled with my current post-Deva routine, but I felt guilty buying more hair products when I have so many others to finish.

If I did not receive the deluxe Drunk Elephant samples of the shampoo and conditioner @tastelikewater , I would have had the same thoughts. I still have a few products also to use.

@Makeupmadds I bought the Verb Ghost Weightless Oil to Fight Frizz and Enhance Shine 2 oz/ 60 mLat the last minute!  It was almost a non-purchase for me!

PMD - Personal Microderm (or the Pro version) because 1) I’m still not mentally aboard the microdermabrasion train and 2) I splurged on the DDG SpectraLite instead, which I think I’ll get much more use from. 

GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream because I wanted to sample it before committing to a full size. I got a DS in a customized sample set direct from Glow Recipe instead. Having used it one night so far, I’m kinda glad I didn’t buy a FS. 

PRIMA - Night Magic 300mg CBD Intensive Face Oil  because I bought the Flora + Bast CBD oil instead (and already own & love Herbivore Emerald CBD oil). 

A full size DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni™ Retinol Cream and/or Shani Darden Skin Care Retinol Reform® Treatment Serum 1 oz / 30 mL because 1) I wanted to sample A-Passioni first, considering my skin’s bad track record with DE (so I bought the mini A-Passioni + B-Hydra set instead) and 2) I already have a mini of the SD retinol and I’m not sure I want the full size. 

PAT MCGRATH LABS - Mothership III Eyeshadow Palette - Subversive because it came back in stock at PMG direct just in time for their 25% off sale—so I bought it there instead. Plus, I didn’t want to order this palette from Sephora because I wanted it to arrive intact. 

Hourglass Retractable Kabuki Brush because... actually, I’m not sure what finally changed my mind. I’d have used it for finishing powders or powder foundations while traveling. I think not being able to find good videos of folks using this brush—so I could see exactly how big its case and bristles are—made me pass it up. I wish I could see it in person. 

FRESH - Sugar Hydrating Lip Balm in Peach, because I don’t need more lip balms no matter how good they might smell. 😄

@WinglessOne  I saw the SD retinol. I wondered if it was any good!

@ather  I’ve used the mini once a week for the last 3 weeks or so, and this week I used it twice. SD claims it’s 2.2% encapsulated retinol, which is stronger than the serum I’ve used for about a year now (The Inkey List Retinol; on the retinol nights I didn’t use the SD serum, I used TIL serum instead). My skin did go through a round of retinization when I started the SD serum—some new dry patches and possibly some new breakouts (might’ve been caused by a different new product instead)—but not as badly as I expected. Hopefully there’s enough product in the mini to last a few weeks of more frequent use, so I can truly judge how this serum performs. 

Retinol Reform also contains 2% lactic acid. That’s low strength for this particular AHA, but I still don’t like having my retinol serum permanently tied to an AHA. I prefer to decide when I do and don’t need an AHA layered with my retinol.

@WinglessOne  thank you for the comparison. I’m hoping there’s enough for you to get lots of good testing. I’m using the ordinary 1% right now and I usually mix it into the buffet to take the strength down. My skin is pretty sensitive and that’s been working for me. But I was reading about SD and she really likes retinol. I’ve been on and off the fence but I’m trying to be more constant with using it to see if I see any results.

The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion for Wrinkles and Uneven Texture 1 oz/ 30 mL & The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%, Vitamin C Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL, I bought two other serums from them instead and have these in my loves for later. 

Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush - Pillow Talk Collection Pillow Talk because I have way too much makeup!

VISEART - Rosé EDIT Eyeshadow Palette

I love warm edit for traveling and was thinking this would complement it nicely, but I won’t be traveling anytime soon.

I've been debating both The INKEY List Peptide Moisturizer 1.7 oz/ 50 mL or The INKEY List Collagen Booster Firming Peptide Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL since my skin seems to like peptides but I have a good stock of moisturizers and an abundance of serums to get through. I figure it's smarter to wait until the fall and reevaluate if I would start using them soon.

My local Sephora started carrying the Minis in the rows before the cash wrap @greeneyedgirl107 . I also got lucky with some of the PMG sale items.
