This is a thread for discussing news, new releases, and dupe requests related to cruelty-free cosmetics!

Cruelty-free generally refers to companies that do not test on animals, but the definition can be expanded to take on a variety of ethical issues, such as fair trade & ethical labor practices during production or sourcing of materials (such as Mica).  Its difficult (maybe impossible) to be a perfectly ethical consumer, but this thread is meant to support those trying to do more!

Just to clarify, are you including companies that claim to be Cruelty Free, but that DO sell in China in your lists? 

I know most of those Cruelty Free websites make a distinction between the two, since China requires by law that products not made there have to be tested on animals. They also randomly pull sample products from shelves to test as well. I just want to be clear about it, and to make sure that anyone new to buying Cruelty Free knows about that issue to watch out for. ...sneaky companies. 😿

please please share your NARS dupes, I used the brand for years.... when I could barely afford make-up i.e. college days and before I had greater awareness of what cruelty free meant. Now, I'm gutted by their ridiculous about face. Out with the old - in with the new...

I own this lipstick, and it's a pretty shade of brick red, rather than a true red. I love KVD lipsticks. If you like brick red shades, you should definitely consider this one. Especially since it helps animals.
