THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

I’m a huge Suqqu (and several other Japanese beauty brands) fan. I’m not sure how many other enthusiasts we have on BIC but I thought it’d be nice to have a dedicated space.

Suqqu is primarily sold in the Asian market but a small portion of their inventory seems to make it to the UK as well.

I mostly decided to maintain this thread because I know how incredibly challenging it's been for me to find information and swatches of upcoming releases without speaking the language. I'm sure there are probably others out there who have this issue too, so hopefully this thread will be helpful to someone.

Please feel free to ask questions and share any upcoming news you might find.

RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

@SilverBeet  a few other shots and thoughts

I couldn't wait to see how the green looked so I took off my makeup to try it out for a few hours. It's a lot greener (this is a plus for me) than I expected, as I was assuming it would be a brownish olive tone.

I first tried it all over the lid in the same manner I did with 101 yesterday and found the application similar.

I tried adding 101 to the outer v and blending the 2 together. I think this product is best as a one colour wash or perhaps a pat-on glitter topper. You can apply a colour in layers to increase opacity, but if you apply a second colour over top and then try to blend, rather than diffusing the 2 shades into each other, it seems to disrupt the original. I would assume this means the product dried down before the second colour was applied.

Regardless, I think the colours I have are lovely, even if only for 1 colour eye looks.

Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

@Mochapj 101 is such a beautiful shade of green! Thanks for the swatch!

Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

A lovely green and not at all as deep as I expected.

Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

Love those colors blended together, @Mochapj. I haven’t done an olive eye in awhile, what color liner (if any) do you pair with this? I would gravitate toward brown, but I imagine an shimmering aubergine would be a little more eye-catching. Thanks for taking the time to share this.

Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

Thanks @eshoe !

i think there are quite a few colours that would pair well. A burgundy/aubergine would  provide good contrast. A gold or bronze shade would be more of a complementary colour scheme that would pick up on the golden tones in the green shadow. Chocolatey browns would be a more daytime appropriate option and even a deeper forest green could be nice for a tonal look.

i think most shades would look good since both the green and brown shadows I used are fairly neutral; I’d probably just avoid anything too light (no whites or beiges) or bright (pastel or neon tones)

Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

Thank you, @Mochapj! I am going to try this out, for fun☺️ The dark green sounds nice, will play around with these colors, and see what I come up with.

Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

@Mochapj - That is a really pretty look on you.  I'm going to order those because they look so nice on you and the colors together are similar to my eye color (hazel).  Thank you so much for taking time out of your day for doing this.

Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

@SilverBeet thank you so much. I hope you love them as much as I do!

RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

@SilverBeet I tried out 101 Teriaka for a few hours yesterday, over primer. I always use primer because of my hooded lids and found this to wear well. It didn’t crease or transfer and dried down. I think the reason the bloggers apply and use a finger is because the product has a viscosity similar to nail polish; applying it with the doefoot alone (IMO) would be much too thick. I applied a dot to each lid and then blended it out to the below using a brush. I think you could probably layer it for further opacity but I haven’t tried that yet. I ended up ordering the khaki one over the weekend and will do a full look and wear trial using both shades tomorrow once the green one has arrived.

Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

@Mochapj - That looks gorgeous on you!  Thanks for the detailed assessment of this product.  I think that I will order a couple of them since it looks so nice on you.  With hooded eyelids, I'm always apprehensive about any liquid eyeshadow and eyeliner.  Thank you for your input!

RE: Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

Thank you @SilverBeet ! With hooded lids I’m always hesitant and skeptical of new products as well but this was a pleasant surprise. It works much better for me than their Deep Nuance Eyes creamy pots did.

Re: RE: Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

@Mochapj - The Deep Nuance Eyes were a big miss for me.  I purchased 2 of them based on swatches and they ended up being glitter bombs on my eyes, which is why I passed on the Glow Touch Eyes.  If I travel to Japan or Thailand, I want to try some of the foundation & skin care in person.

Re: RE: Re: RE: THE SUQQU THREAD | NEWS & DISCUSSION

@SilverBeet I didn't mind the glitter aspect of the DNE too much but I couldn't deal with the super greasy texture.

05 is so pretty, @Mochapj. It almost looks like it has a bit of an orange shift. Thank you for sharing the swatches☺️

Gorgeous @Mochapj. I really love the Yuuakane palette (if that’s the first four swatches).
