Need help finding the right foundation shade?

I need help to find the right shade of foundation as I've struggled quite a lot. I've used a few different shades recommended by the staff, and the closest shade I've used so far is Estee Lauder 1w2. However, it is still a little too orangey looking when I first apply it and makes me look washed out, and sort of green at the end of a school day. Any suggestions on whether I should go lighter or darker, go more yellow or pink, something like that?
