March has made its way to us, and to celebrate, we’re breaking out the beauty brackets for our second annual Makeup Madness Challenge in the BIC! For the next few weeks, eight popular makeup categories will go head-to-head in a showdown to snag the title of 2022 Community Champion makeup category. It’s up to YOU to vote on the winner … and share some tried-and-true beauty recs along the way (because why not?!). 😉

We kicked off round 1 with a matchup that sparked serious passion last year: lipstick vs. mascara. 🔥 Mascara ended up taking the crown in 2021, but who knows what will happen this year… especially since we’ll be adding new makeup categories to the mix in future rounds. 😏 Stay tuned!

@Kim888, I don’t know how I’ve gone all this time not knowing that LM had a concealer in wand form. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve used their other concealers before and still do. 🧐 Will have to check it out.

I choose foundation. My favorite is DIOR Dior Forever Matte Foundation SPF 15 .

It has really good coverage that also conceals my dark under eye areas. I can go without concealer, not foundation!

The matte version is not drying on my skin, which is dry. I use a little dab of eye cream before, and then foundation. It stays put all day long.

@angel7594, that sounds fantastic! 😍 My under-eye area is dry for all but maybe the warmest parts of the summer so that is good to know. Thank you so much!

@TeamBIC   This one is soo hard.  I love how I can layer Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter under my foundation on my cheeks below my dark circles, above my eyebrows, and a dot on my chin.  It gives me exactly the glow I want, especially under indoor lighting.  I love using it with #Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation (looks like it's being discontinued, just as I decided this was my holy grail...)

On the other hand, Armani Beauty Power Fabric + Longwear Matte Concealer  is so good for the dark corners of my eyes, bringing it over the lids as a primer.  It really brightens my eye area.  And, sorry for TMI, but it does a good job of disguising the remnants of facial hair after shaving.

I'm torn.  I guess I'll go with foundation and electrolysis. lol

A fairly easy choice for me this week - foundation over concealer. I’ll wear foundation without concealer but I won’t wear concealer without foundation. There are many foundations I’ve enjoyed using over the years, but my favorite is the Dior Forever line, with a toss up between the Glow and Matte finishes! Depends on my mood and the look I’m going for.

@alexasteph, both those Dior foundations have been on my list to try. Do you find them to be long lasting? I know they claim 24 hour wear, which seems like it would be a stretch, but wondering what your thoughts are on their longevity.

@itsfi I’ve always found them to be long lasting! I don’t know about 24 hours long because I wash my face before then, but it holds up pretty well.

@TeamBIC I vote concealer this week.  It can double as foundation and hide dark spots or acne if done right.  I love Cle de Peau and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer with Medium Coverage

Have I voted on this one yet? I am primer all the way since my skin is very dry and therefore powder does not play well. I absolutely love Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA +++ 2.5 oz / 73.9 mL!!

I have been wearing Tarte Amazonian Clay Gem Powder Foundation since the beginning of the year so I guess that I will have to say primer. Even though my skin is combination I have been using the older version of Smashbox Photo Finish Control Mattifying Face Primer with Salicylic Acid 1 oz. / 30 mL . I did purchase a tube of the newer version on Monday.
