March has made its way to us, and to celebrate, we’re breaking out the beauty brackets for our second annual Makeup Madness Challenge in the BIC! For the next few weeks, eight popular makeup categories will go head-to-head in a showdown to snag the title of 2022 Community Champion makeup category. It’s up to YOU to vote on the winner … and share some tried-and-true beauty recs along the way (because why not?!). 😉

We kicked off round 1 with a matchup that sparked serious passion last year: lipstick vs. mascara. 🔥 Mascara ended up taking the crown in 2021, but who knows what will happen this year… especially since we’ll be adding new makeup categories to the mix in future rounds. 😏 Stay tuned!

Okay, alright, "FOREVER SALTY" is officially over. 💄❤️ My 400+ lipsticks and I sincerely thank everyone on Team Lipstick for this fabulous redemption! 

Remember, no makeup category is truly "worse" than another. I like mascara (even though 95% of it hurts my eyes)! I love highlighter! Concealer's a big confidence booster for me sometimes. And thank goodness blush and brow pencil weren't in the running this year. All makeup categories are good categories. Not as good as lipstick but  THEY'RE ALL GOOD. 

Speaking of mascara: since my lower lashes love Wander Beauty Mile High Club™ Length and Define Mascara Jet Black , I should try Wander Beauty Upgraded Lashes™ Thickening Mascara soon since apparently so many BICers love it. I think I can trust Wander Beauty's mascaras to play nice with my sensitive eyes. Love seeing the other most-tagged products from each category!

This feels like a huge upset, and my personal choice would be for foundation. Yet I don’t think any beauty product (maybe fragrance, yes?) can make one feel changed in an instant, so much as lipstick can.

My vote is for lipstick. Nothing else feels quite as wonderful as applying it!

As much as I like foundation for those days when you kinda look like the walking dead I have to go with lipstick. It can be used in so many ways (lips, cheeks, and eyes) that foundation just can't do. Oh I think I forgot to vote last week but I would vote for foundation over highlighter. However in the final round, lipstick would get my vote. I will wear some sheer lipstick without any foundation.
