March has made its way to us, and to celebrate, we’re breaking out the beauty brackets for our second annual Makeup Madness Challenge in the BIC! For the next few weeks, eight popular makeup categories will go head-to-head in a showdown to snag the title of 2022 Community Champion makeup category. It’s up to YOU to vote on the winner … and share some tried-and-true beauty recs along the way (because why not?!). 😉

We kicked off round 1 with a matchup that sparked serious passion last year: lipstick vs. mascara. 🔥 Mascara ended up taking the crown in 2021, but who knows what will happen this year… especially since we’ll be adding new makeup categories to the mix in future rounds. 😏 Stay tuned!

@WinglessOne hi, I just wanted to let you know that I just """invented""" a new way to use aquaphor on my lips: instead of damp them with water (my lips become dry immediately, so I wet them but, in the same moment that I'm opening the tube and take a little bit of product with my finger, my lips already have absorb all the water I putted on them, if that make sense) 🤦‍♀️🤣, I put a little amount of the product on my finger tip, then I let the water run on my hand directly, and slader the mixture onto my lips. It's actually pretty refreshing and nice....and most important, it works 😻

@Skunk12puzzola  Glad you found a method that works for you! I usually squeeze (or dip, if I'm using the big jar) a bit of Aquaphor on my finger before tapping water on my lips. That way, I've got the balm ready to go before my lips have a chance to completely dry down. Either way, whatever works is great! 

I've talked about Aquaphor so much on BIC, some folks must think I'm a paid spokesperson. I'm not—but if Aquaphor, Eucerin, or Beiersdorf AG (parent company) wants to offer me a sponsorship, they can hit me up! 🤣 It's one of my favorite skincare products, and it's rescued my face and body skin more times than I can count.

@CarolBT, this NARS concealer is such a classic! 💖 Have you tried SEPHORA COLLECTION Bright Future Gel Serum Under Eye Concealer? I find it to be similar to the NARS concealer but slightly more hydrating.

This one is a toughie. It has been just over a year since I discovered concealer can be used for so much more than just under the eyes. My longtime love for foundation as a result wins here, but just barely. A favorite and one I reach for often is the Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Luminous Natural Matte Foundation 24H Longwear SPF 30 with Hyaluronic A....

@eshoe, this is a hard round. 🤨 I think I’ve said that for every round thus far. 😆 Concealer is definitely versatile, but a nice base … definitely a tough choice.

Shall a Support Group be formed?, @eshoe , @danielledanielle , @itsfi. -for those of us who have faced this most vexing quandry. What about a versatile stick fndtn? That might be counted as Concealer, if formula lends itself. I almost choose Fndtn...!

@MvLL this is exactly my kind of thinking! I used my concealer that way sometimes, and it really could be a shoe-in for both. But I just love the extra softness the right foundation gives my skin. @danielledanielle @itsfi A support group indeed!

FOUNDATION!! No doubts about it! I can always run it all over my face and use it as concealer as well but it would be too much to do the opposite! 😁

A favorite of mine has been Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place 24-Hour Longwear Foundation 2W2 Rattan and now DIOR Dior Forever Skin Glow Hydrating Foundation They work perfectly on my dry skin on different times of the year.

@itsfi Thank you beautiful! That Dior foundation has such an elegant texture and it performs so well. It leaves a beautiful natural finish, not too dewy, just perfect, and it does not accentuate pores, like other luminous foundations do, and does not set into my wrinkles either. I love it!
