Week 12 (March 19-25): Use something in a different way (safely) - An opportunity to use your lipstick as blush, your eyeliner or eyebrow pencil on lips, be creative! (Just remember, some items are not tested and may not be safe for eyes or lips)
ππβ€οΈβ€οΈ [UPDATED WITH MARCH and APRIL CHALLENGES!!] πππ
We celebrated the One Year Anniversary of this thread in November!! Although, somehow the challenge ended up with 61 weeks in a year, Iβm not sure how that happened, lol.
Anyway, I figure in year two, weβll do some repeats and some new challenges. I also plan to add in some bonus hair challenges, maybe once a month.
Okay, for simplicity, Iβm going to update the numbering to be Week 1 for the new year, I hope that is not too confusing. Iβll try to get 52 weeks in the year this time! I guess I also need to update the title for 2023.
Upcoming Weekly Challenge:
Week 10 (March 5-11): Matchy matchy week! Match your makeup to your clothes, or jewelry or hair accessories, a scarf or something you wear! Inspired by @sportygirly
Week 11 (March 12-18): Green week! For St. Patrickβs Day, letβs show off all our green looks or otherwise Irish inspired looks! ππππ
Week 12 (March 19-25): Use something in a different way (safely) - An opportunity to use your lipstick as blush, your eyeliner or eyebrow pencil on lips, be creative! (Just remember, some items are not tested and may not be safe for eyes or lips)
Week 13 (March 26-April 1): Cherry Blossom Week - while the peak bloom may vary around the world, let's use this week to be inspired by the beauty of the cherry blossoms.
March Bonus Hair Challenge (feel free to do anytime in March): Braid/Braids
Week 14 (April 2-8): Spring Looks week! What makes you think of spring? Gloss, pastels, spring runway looks?
Week 15 (April 9-15): Holy Grail week! I think maybe @josometimes or @titian06 suggested this one? Use your Holy Grail products that are tried, tested and loved and be sure to share why it's a fave!
Week 16 (April 16-22): Sephora Spring sale - newness/or anything you havenβt gotten around to wearing/or shop your stash. (Note: I'm not sure when the Spring sal eis happening, so I may move this one.)
Week 17 (April 23-29): Multichromes week! There have been so many great multi-chrome products and palettes lately, so let's make sure to showcase them!
Week 18 (April 30-May 6): April Showers bring May Flowers week! This can be a bright and springy look, or a rain-inspired look (or a combo of both!).
Completed 2023 Weekly Challenges:
Week 1 (Jan 1-7): Focus on brows week! Do a bold brow or shimmery brow or just spend more time on your brows this week. Inspired by @SportyGirly125
Week 2 (Jan 8-14): Rock a red lip week! If this is a regular for you, rock it as normal, or add a fun element, like gloss or add glitter/shimmer to it. Suggested by @JoSometimes
Week 3 (Jan 15-21): Shop your stash/forgotten favorites! Dig into your stash/archives for something you havenβt used in a long time and renew your love or re-evaluate)
Week 4 (Jan 22-28): Chopping block/declutter week! Are there any items that you have been wondering about getting rid of? Do they still work, bring joy, serve a purpose in your collection? No pressure to get rid of anything, but just want to dedicate a week to evaluate some items on the heels of forgotten favorites week!
Bonus Hair Challenge for January: Do a full blowout and share your products, tips and tricks!
Week 5 (Jan 29-Feb 4): Skin prep/Complexion focus week! Take extra time this week with your skin prep. Exfoliate or use a hydrating mask prior to makeup, use a luminous or mattifying primer, foundation and/or setting spray. And/Or, focus this week on using a skincare device or skincare product if youβve been neglecting one you own.
Week 6 (Feb 5-11): Get out of your comfort zone week! Suggested by @josometimes. This is a chance to try something new and experiment a little. If you love a red lip, try hot pink or neutral. If you love neutrals, maybe add some color. Or, wear a bolder look out to run errands or on a night out to gain confidence with a different look! Please feel free ask for tips and tricks if youβd like suggestions on techniques, color or product recommendations and share your experience and tips for others as you try something new.
Week 7 (Feb 12-18): Red/Pink/Shimmer/Glitter or whatever you want for Valentineβs/Galentines Day (inspired by @imaster
Week 8 (Feb 19-25): Pantone Color of the Year Viva Magenta week! I miss the past Sephora + Pantone collaborations, so letβs make our own.
Week 9 (Feb 26-Mar 4): Luxe brands or Luxe items. If it feels luxe to you or makes you feel fancy, use it and post it, whether itβs Target or Tom Ford, LβOrΓ©al or La Mer!
Bonus Hair Challenge for February: Hot Rollers or Velcro Rollers and/or other techniques for volume.
βββ
So, I could definitely (still) use some makeup inspiration these days and maybe you could too! Several years ago, we used to have some weekly makeup challenge threads, so Iβm bringing one back. Itβs a great way to spark some creativity and maybe most importantly, a great way to shop your stash!
I started with a list of some challenges below, but also happy to edit/rearrange/consider other ideas along the way. I hope you will join me! Feel free to post as many or as few times youβd like each week with photos of your looks. If you donβt like to post your face, feel free to do a flatlay of the products you used to do your look. Also, if you get behind or ahead, feel free to post pics whenever you have time.
Canβt wait to see all your looks! Have fun!

You look great for "in a rush," @sister13 ! π₯° You're smart to put your declutters/wear again soon items in a designated bin. This way you can't forget.
Thank you! Yes, I have to put things in the bin or I totally forget! And, it makes it wasier especially in a rush to use these items instead of my tried & trues! @Titian06

Well this blush is going. Even just a touch gave me too much!
The Golden Hour palette still is creamy with little fallout
The beauty bakerie palette is still buttery
The Wander Beauty powder foundation is still creamy and smooth
wet n wild bronzer I am on the fence. But I will keep it for now
I still love the EL lipstick. The case is a pink that they offered for Breast Cancer Awareness month in October 2019 . Itβs still creamy smooth.
@Cissy63 it's so pretty though, you could tone it down with powder foundation and buff it π€· if you really want to put the effort into it
@lmaster Thank you I never tried to do that π. I think Iβm going to try it!
@Cissy63 π€ I hope you can work with it
If the blush doesnβt want to cooperate, maybe itβs time to definitely let it go. It shouldnβt be that difficult! I love your eyeshadow @Cissy63! π
@Saradestin Thank you π Yes this is too much π
@Cissy63 - I love this lipstick color on you! π₯° The blush goes very well with the lippie, but like last time, too much is too much. Your eyeshadow color is right up my alley. π
@Titian06 Thank you. Yes this blush is not for my skin tone. EL has some lovely lipsticks. I still liked the eye palette so Iβm glad itβs still creamy.
I love that pink EL lipstick! I am partial to EL but this is really pretty and bright on you! That blush is a pretty color, but I can see where sometimes they are just to pigmented to be manageable without being super careful, and you probably have others that are better for you. You look great and your skin looks so smooth and even! @Cissy63
@sister13 Oh thank you very much. This EL is still smooth and creamy, just glides on. This blush and yesterdayβs I have had for years . I never really used much and now I know why. Thatβs ok, like you said, I have some newer formulas that work better.
Todays look;
Tatcha The Liquid Silk Canvas: Featherweight Protective Primer 1.0 oz/ 30 mL (from the favorites collection, still has lots of product left)
TOM FORD Fond de teint invisible, doux et mat
(from sample card using 4.0 Fawn) this was the best match from the sample and itβs really beautiful)
elf Camo concealer
Maybelline brightener ( itβs ok, but I have others and I have had it for awhile)
tarte sunset blur finishing powder
Charlotte Tilbury Duo contour Bronze et Γclat Filmstar Clair/Moyen.
it Cosmetics Vitality Cheek Flush in Pretty in Peony. I have really not been using it. And I donβt like it. Just a small touch itβs too bright. And I have others in the same color family that I like better so itβs going
#Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
elf eyebrow palette
Milani Avocado Clear Brow Gel
Milani Eyeshadow Primer
ATHR BEAUTY Eyeshadow palette ( I donβt see a palette name on it, but itβs been in my collection for about two years and I still like it)
NYX Professional Makeup retractable eyeliner in Aqua Green ( still glides and stays put)
Benefit Cosmetics Mini-ligneur liquide hydrofuge Roller Liner Noir (works well)
tarte tarte maneaterβ’ mascara Black
Elizabeth Arden Sunset Bronze Prismatic Lip Gloss ( on my project pan list itβs so sparkly and I need to find ways to incorporate it more)
So I am ditching the blush and eye brightener
And for the hair challenge I used IGK Legendary shampoo and conditioner (finishing up these before I start my new products bought in December). And I used the JVN hair milk. This work wonders. Better than I expected. My hair is coarse, thick and wavy. But I like to blow dry it smooth. My hair didnβt take long to blow dry and itβs so soft and smooth. Great recommendation from our BIC. Thanks π₯°

I am in love with this look π @Cissy63
@lmaster Thank you. I am going to try buffing it out with face powder and see how the blush looks before I toss it. Thank you for the suggestion π
Your hair is so shiny and voluminous @Cissy63! I love your look! π I love TF foundation. So sad it is so expensive!
@Saradestin Thank you! The JVN hair milk is terrific. TF sample was beautiful π₯°
Your hair looks so shiny and smooth, but still has body! Nice! I tried that TF sample foundation too, and really liked it, it looks great! I'm remembering a few products that have just been taking up space and it's good to revisit them and get rid of them. I feel there are so many GREAT products, might as well try to have more focus on them vs. items that really aren't great - either aren't great anymore, or never were, haha!
@sister13 Thank you. Yes, if itβs not working for me I need to part with it. I am a saver. I hate to part with anything π«. But my husband keeps telling me that the house is just so big and we arenβt going to rent storage!
I hate to part with anything, too! I've gotten only slightly better over the years but I can basically find any excute to hang on to something! @Cissy63
Your hair is gorgeous, @Cissy63 ! π I agree about the blush (no criticism meant); it's just too much and blushes are so hard to tone down...yea, personal experience! Otherwise, you look lovely as always! π
