Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

@simply2002 - You've already received a lot of responses, but I'm still going to throw mine on here.  I find that the beauty blender works much better than the other sponges.  It is gentler on my sensitive skin and blends foundation beautifully.

Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

I have Ultas version and it works great. I’ve used the same sponge for 6 months and clean it at least once a week and it’s still fine. I’ve never used the actual BB so I can’t compare but I’m happy with Ultas

Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

I do think the Beauty Blender is a ridiculous price considering its really just an egg sized piece of foam. I hate going to Sephora and handing over twenty bucks for it when there are so many other pretty things I would rather spend that money on. However it works well and makes applying foundation quick and easy and with good results. It washes well and lasts me quite some time, a year or so. I have tried brushes and other blenders and haven't found anything to be quite as effective as the BB, so yup for me it is the best tool when it comes to foundation.

RE: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

I have tried a bunch of them and have never liked anything as much as beauty blender. That being said many people don’t agree with this. My advice is if it’s something you’ve been wanting to try... just do it. Otherwise you’ll always wonder what you missed!

Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

@simply2002 I’ve tried both before and I prefer the real techniques one. The beauty blender gives you a nice overall finish but I like to also use my sponge to finish contouring/highlighting my nose with concealer and the real techniques sponge does a more precise job at blending (bc of the different edges).

I think you should give the beauty blender a try though!! It’s super soft and blends foundation beautifully. If you don’t end up liking it, you can always go back to the RT sponge. I’ve heard rave reviews about the L’Oreal sponge so that’s next on my list to try!

Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

I personally use the beauty blender for all my foundation and concealer application (sometimes powders too if I'm traveling and only have limited space). I like the texture and squishiness of it. Different brands make different sponges, so I would test them out and see what you like best in terms of shape, texture, and softness. Buying the beauty blenders at regular price is expensive so I always use coupons/promotions and buying them in kits is usually cheaper too.

RE: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

I tried all the other cheaper options and nothing compares to the beauty blender. I use it every time I wear make up.

Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

I hope so, because I just went overboard and ordered the value kit with the little nest... I think it's still in stock. https://www.sephora.com/product/blenders-for-all-seasons-P426098

Finally got fed up with my brush not working with my current foundation. Going to give two away as xmas gifts, so the price is pretty good.

Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

For me, it depends on the products I'm applying. Some thicker creams seem to do better with the RT sponge, but many of my foundations and BBs seem to go on smoother with the BB.

Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

I have both and I prefer the Beauty Blender. It gives a slightly smoother application than the Real Techniques sponge. It’s not a huge difference so if you’re happy with the Real Techniques and you don’t need to buy a new one, I would recommend not buying the Beauty Blender unless you can find it on sale at a good price. This time of year there are some gift sets that are on sale that have the Beauty Blender in them. It is also on sale at T.J. Maxx for $14.99. I haven’t tried any other makeup sponges so I can’t say if any of them are better.

Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

Honestly I’m kind of meh about the Beauty Blender. I much prefer my QUO brand blending sponge from Shopper’s Drug Mart, but I splurged on the 3-piece set during the November sale, because I wanted to know what all the fuss was about.  The only thing I like better on the BB is the pointed tip, which is useful for undereyes. I don’t think I’ll purchase it again because $28 CAD is just too much, when I can get the QUO one for $4-$6.

RE: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

I would say that the beauty blender definitely makes applying better-blended makeup easier and faster for me. I got one a few months ago but I'm hesitating to buy another - you can probably get a dupe at a drug store that's just as good.

Makeup is really personal, and so is how we apply it. I personally love my Beauty Blender. Especially the minis, because I love the precision. Real Techniques has been a favorite of mine for years, And the miracle complexion brush is one of my go-to's. A Beauty Blender will give you an even application, and pick up excess product. This way you can evenly apply and layer products to your heart's content. If you get it, and you decide you don't like it, you can always return it.

Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

I really really like the L'Oreal blender sponge.

me too! that's my go to drug store one - it's a closer dupe to the beauty blender than the real techniques one in my opinion

I just bought the flower beauty sponge that was 9$ and it works soo much better ,in my opinion , then the beauty blender.

Re: Is the beauty blender worth the money?

@simply2002 are you located in the USA? the beauty blender summer set is on sale so its a great way to try them out and decide while getting them for a bit cheaper!

I do think they are a bit better but for me personally not enough to justify spending over double the price. Its not as if its an investment, you have to throw them out every few months. But I also think ultimately its $20 so if you want to try it, try it and then next time you can decide if it was worth the extra money.
