Fenty foundation orange and red... Please help?

I bought the fenty rihanna foundation after being matched in store...  I noticed after buying it I tried it on with a full face..  My face looked really orange and dark as well as in the areas I have red spots and seemed more noticeable.  I am now returning it but before I buy a different one I see they have ones with the cool red tone and ones with subtle red tones.  Hopefully someone can help me out with which one is better or is there any other foundations that are lightweight that cover up redness well....   Please?

Re: Fenty foundation orange and red... Please help?

Hey there. Lucky you for finding a color. Perhaps she was just trying to sell it. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I had a "mini makeover" and the consultant tried NARS Macao on me. It looked fine in their highly bright lighted mirror; however, this is day two and it is way too light and too gold. I have mixed undertones. I suggest looking at YouTube videos and find someone with a similar complexion to get a better perspective. I watched Youtube and figured I would be a 450, but when I went to Sephora, another dark beauty about 3 shades darker than me was wearing 450 and I would have suspected her to wear 470. Her makeup was beautiful. She reccommended I get 430; but it was out, so I have yet to be able to try it. If you hover over the colors on the Fenty website, it will tell you the undertones of the foundation. From your picture, it does not look like you need red tints in your foundation. You look like a bronzed gold. I would also suggest you take a quiz to determine if you are truly warm, cool or mixed. I am sorry I do not have more specific advice. Also, Fenty foundation oxidizes and is supposed to get darker after 10 minutes. I would suggest you have them do a full face make over with the foundation and wait it out to see if you like it. Test it out in different lighting. I know I will next time. My NARS was $42. My mother is lightskinned and it is suits her fine. Merry Christmas Mama! Keep us posted on which color works best for you.
