January 2019 Empties

Not Pictured - Equate Cotton Squares

My thoughts:

Equate Cotton Squares did their job. No wow factor but I think I like the square shape better than the circle. Thumbs up and I'd repurchase.

Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel is good as well. I do a double layer of moisturizer - a serum/gel with hyaluronic acid and then a more occlusive moisturizer to seal it in. The product performs well but I don't like the jar packaging. I prefer Vichy Mineral 89 but it has a higher price point. I like the Hada Labo and may repurchase it (I have been through a few jars already) but want to try the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Jelly since it has a pump but is cheaper than Vichy. I had 93 uses from the Hada Labo so using it morning and night it lasts me about a month and a half.

Devacurl B'Leave-in Gel gets a strong like too. Originally my stylist recommended using this and the coconut supercream. I feel like using both together was too heavy for my hair. Alone the b'leave-in gives me more defined waves while the coconut supercream gives me more of a chance to get curls. I've already repurchased the big pump bottle of this since it's good while I'm figuring out my hair routine. I can't wait to compare it to the wave maker and light gel to see which helps my waves/curl *crosses fingers* look their best.

Dr. Jart+ Color Correcting Treatment was meh. I used it more as a base than simply a color corrector since I do a lazy makeup routine and want one step. I would classify myself as fair but not Snow White and this was a bit dark on me. I would put a little Bare Minerals mineral veil over top with some blush and mascara and the look was light and natural. Maybe this was an error on my part to use it as an all over face product. I only had 56 uses in the jar which doesn't seem like much. I maybe overapplied in the beginning but still let's say I would have had 70 uses instead, that's not much for a $52 jar. I like the concept behind this product but with the darkness compared to my skin and the price, it's a no-go for me but may work better for others.<DIV class="lia-spoiler-noscript-content">Equate Cotton Squares did their job. @ShortErica I'm 50/50 with devacurl products. some I love, some I dislike. I've noticed if I mask at least 2 times a week with some type of oul, my curls are defined for a much longer stretch

That's how I'm feeling too @lmaster. I know some people swear by the whole line and get a bit defensive about it.

The arc angel gel wasn't good for my hair. And really I feel like the conditioner is good but is it worth the extra money..I'm still trying to figure that out. Which ones are your no-no products?

@ShortErica I'm so so even about the no poo cleanser and conditioner, but I rotate it, out ( I honestly prefer the b&b hairdressers invisible oil shampoo/conditioner) I do like the buildup buster micellar water cleansing serum, the frizz free volumizing foam, mister right dream curl refresher,set it free moisture lock,and the matcha butter leave in masks. I'm so so about the believe in, the arc angel, and wave maker. Dis like the heaven in hair treatment

@lmaster I figured I'd go all in with Devacurl by getting the cut and giving the products a chance. My fave has been the micellar serum. I feel like my hair has a spring after I use it. I have a nice stock of everything (just purchased more conditioner since that goes the quickest) so after this year of experiment hopefully I'll know what to keep from Devacurl in my routine and what I need to keep searching for. Can't wait to figure my hair out again.

Likes- shower oil is very nice

Meh- Clinique is nice but breaks up around my nose, still looking for a base product that doesn’t do that!

Top three masks were good and I would repurchase all; the Coscodi is a very thin cotton mask and the Lapcos Oil is a 2-part strongly scented mask (love). The Dr. Jart+ is also 2-parts with ear straps and feels like a bandage; it’s a hydrogel that adheres fantastically to your face.

The Algenist and OH Truth Serum are both great, but I won’t purchase as I have plenty of samples to wade through.

The Cosmic Calm mask was $1 at Party City and something I picked up out of curiosity; it performed about as well as I expected, wouldn’t repurchase. The FaceINC mask was adorable but I couldn’t get it to stick and it caused some minor irritation. I couldn’t pinpoint the culprit, but it was fun to use.

The Pacifica gloss was fine, just something I kept in the kitchen and won’t be repurchasing. I really love the Kenra Blow-Dry spray, have been trying some other products but nothing works like this one for my hair.

The Maison Margiela Festival was fine, didn’t mind it (actually I liked the scent) but it doesn’t last on me. Didn’t care for the MJ Daisy but it wasn’t awful. A bit too floral for me.

The Hourglass Immaculate foundation oxidized on my skin, have never had that happen before and it took me by surprise. I tried different serums and primers, but it did it every time. It had a strong chemical scent which also surprised me. A no-go.

Loves- have already repurchased the amika, green clean, dp hue , boscia, Shiseido. Have deluxe samples of some of these. Jordan Samuel is very nice will repurchase after I finish another hydrating serum. I love the ceo serum but ouch it’s costly. Makes my skin look 🙌. The new first aid beauty cream is really nice and hydrating but not heavy or greasy!

likes/okay- biossance moisturizer was really nice especially with their squalene oil. Sunday Riley eye cream was so nice but I have a zillion deluxe samples of eye creams . My daughter dumped out the acv spray and replaced it with water 😭. The PTR I still can’t decide if it does anything. The eye patches were all messed up both were cut in half some had to to squish them together to

work. The skinceutical was nice but very pricey for just water and a mask. The living proof was nice but unsure if it really extended my hair style. Felt nice on my hair though.
