Reviving drying up liquid lipstick or adding more moisture to a clumpy applying LL

Somewhere I've read (possibly reddit) that castor oil can be added a drop at a time to a dried out/drying out liquid lipstick. They used a drop in their jeffree star liquid lipstick and she claimed it was like new again. So I went ahead and got a small bottle at sprouts because my huda liquid matte was drying out/running out of product and I put a drop in just to see if it was true, and it did make it easier to apply and it did dry matte unlike trying coconut oil which ruins it, but it turned out a bit gritty after it dried. It also works well for liquid lipsticks that are a bit drying to add moisture like I did with my nyx lip lingerie LL and also made it easier to glide on. Are there any other ideas to make a LL last longer?

So, I've been Googling this conundrum...the Inglot Duraline sounds like a fabulous idea, but I don't have any on hand, and am feeling thrifty/DIY. I've seen suggestions for glycerin or oil - I just tried both at once (terrible scientific method) and that did not work - it didn't mix. Then I looked up ingredients in the liquid lipstick I wanted to thin - silicone seemed like common denominator (for Inglot Duraline, as well). Using my Chemistry knowledge of "like dissolves like," I saw my silicone personal lubricant, main ingredient dimethicone, (which would be safe too, because well.....) I added a couple drops to my lipstick and EUREKA! That worked!!! It mixed and thinned beautifully 💋 The color stayed transfer proof as well. It was a smidge sticky, but nothing a little translucent powder couldn't fix.

Hi @beautyluvr19, I use Inglot’s Duraline, which is supposed to be used to turn powder eyeshadows into liquid liner, but it works really well to revive any liquid makeup! I’ve used it to get the use out of last bit of my favorite mascara in addition to reviving some of my liquid lipsticks that were drying out. HTH

Ahhh I've read about that! I didn't read that it can refresh liquid lipsticks as well much that it's used mainly for gel liners and transforming powder to liquids. It's online only on macys and I'm curious now. Thanks!

I've tried this and while it thins out dried lipstick and makes it easy to apply again, it changes the lipstick itself. More noticeably, the lipstick doesn't last as long, and it transfers much easier. I'm tempted to try the silicone personal lubricant method mentioned above.
