@Sunnysmom This one looks beautiful!
I’ve been reading/hearing reviews of these liners since launch because 1) I don’t need more eyeliners 😅 and 2) I can’t help but remember Lisa’s subpar (to me) eyeshadows, which I still have because I was determined to make ‘em work… sigh. I don’t want another disappointment in this price range. From everything I’ve seen and heard, these liners are a hard pass for me. The only one I’d have bought is Cinder Smoke, but if it’s gonna smear/transfer on—or fade from—my hooded lids, then there’s no point. I did also consider that gold shade, but I have a Linda Hallberg that’s probably very close.
I’m glad the liners work for you though! And I still love Lisa’s lipsticks and liquid shadows, and even the blush (though getting it outta the tube is a challenge; someday I need to do surgery on that nozzle). I’m just better off staying away from these liners.
I get it I do @WinglessOne ! You never know I suppose until you maybe try one and see. We’re all different that’s for sure. I don’t think there is that much difference from some other liners except that now we’re spoiled with the wonderful formulas from VBB and more! So these seem like somewhere in between I would suppose. Good thing there’s so many good options and newness. I think the issue is we have such high hopes for all of her products. I so agree with you on the shadows. I got the one neutral palette and it was ok but not amazing. I have too many other options I like more. Same with the liquids, they’re lovely but why don’t I wear them much. Lol. I loved Linda H line too! And don’t get me started on that blush. 😆 I love love them but my tubes busted at the bottom and one just refuses to come out at all! So sad! I do hope she does a redo sometime. Seems like years. 😭
@Sunnysmom Looks so pretty on you! Yes, I have VB. They smear some. Have Chanel but can't remember how they perform. Interesting about MAKE. I'm looking for a cool, vibrant purple.
My eyes are more hooded than they used to be, which probably doesn't help. And I do think using a primer or cream shadow makes things worse, for me anyway.
@Ispend2much6 a cool purple sounds so pretty! MAKE has Violet Abyss which may not be vibrant enough for you or maybe so. Looks pretty. Yup I know you love VBB too! 🥰 I couldn’t just do a cream primer and then just the liner either. Have to have the powder shadow over that and then the liner! All of the steps, ugh lol I hear you on the hooded lids! Where did they go?! 😭 South that’s where. Lol. Along with so many other things! 😭
@Sunnysmom @Yes! I realized why my mouth looks so squished together now- the skin above it is drooping.
Don’t get me started @Ispend2much6 ! 😭😭😆 Keep using that lip cream etc I suppose! I expect no miracles but it can’t hurt I figure!
Quick swatches of Cinder Smoke and Night Forest. I love the richness of these. Using them today and will see their longevity etc. I hope not many issues due to the way I layer it tho I also do love a more smudged look. Not under my eyes tho clearly. Lol This was barely one full swipe and they feel super smooth ala VBB. Paws crossed @Ispend2much6 !
@Sunnysmombeautiful shades! Interested to hear your thoughts on them. Sometimes VBB liners transfer on me, so I have to use a certain technique to avoid that. Curious how Lisa E liners do.
@TraceyEB Yup , won’t rehash my/our thoughts as you read them below etc. 😊 They do transfer if worn on their own but I never seem to wear mine this way. I haven’t tried on my waterline yet, maybe I will today. They do look beautiful worn over shadow and blended however. The colors are what I love and am sure others too. Nice mix of basics plus fun! I adore the green as it has the blue mix in it! I will order the gold next I’m pretty sure as I don’t mind mixing these with others underneath or over a shadow but realize that could just be me! Let us know if you try them please! Waterlines are so darn tricky!! 🥰
@Sunnysmom, Lisa is getting a lot of us to practice an array of placement techniques. When they work as you're finding, they seem to work well. I'm worried these are too tricky for my oily hooded eyelids. Hooded eyes has forced me to learn to line the upper waterline. Above the eyelash, I typically double line and put a whisper of powder over the eyeshadow where the liner hits or use a gel eyeliner pot like Bobbi Brown or KVD liquid liner.
So true @TraceyEB ! I love that- “whisper of powder”, pretty ! 😍 So this is interesting. I used Cinder on my inner waterline yesterday. Nothing else, no shadow nada. It landed a bit on my bottom lid but not much. Otherwise it stayed on my inside eyelid ALL day and night. Was tricky to even get it off! Isn’t that nutty?! Maybe I just had a day where my eyes were more dry or something but it truly lasted. It wouldn’t have stayed that long on my upper eyelid like that even with the shadow I’m pretty sure. 🥹😆 I also imagine the more matte shades perform much better than any of the shimmers. I have your same woes on waterline!
WOW 😍
EDIT: Sorry to say the liners still smear easily. And the sparkles in the Renaissance Gold migrate easily.
Here’s Renaissance Gold and. Night Forest. Beautiful cool shades.
These swatches are smudged three minutes after application. It’s not looking good for their wear time and ability.
I did try these shortly after bringing them inside from the mailbox so maybe after a lengthy rest in an air conditioned house they will be okay. I’ll report back later.
@Ispend2much6, that does not look promising for me as VBB liners transfer, so I take extra measures to minimize that but if these smear and don't dry down, they won't work for me. Let me know if the performance improves as you use them.
@TraceyEB I sent them back. Not going to work for me.
@Ispend2much6, good for you! The brand should get this feedback when the product doesn't perform as expected. I'm getting the feeling that they might be more problematic than they are worth. I find VBB tricky enough.
@TraceyEB. I would say that they definitely run more than VB's which also smear some for me.
I never used to hav2that problem.
Hourglass's Voyeur liners are pretty good.
I love the shades and it worked better over a bit of powder shadow but to the touch they can still smudge. They’re a bit creamier than VB and i don’t tend to touch my eyes so maybe i just didn’t notice that with VB. But why are they claiming budge proof lol.
and yes the gold has like a black base
@aviscardi Yes, that's exactly what I say- why misadvertise.
