Lip Care

Since winter is coming, my lips have been insanely dry! I need a really moisturizing, on the cheaper end, lip product.

Re: Lip Care

Personally laneige, because of its thick texture and consistency it’s good but it is on the more expensive side ($19) a cheaper option would be aquaphor ($7). It’s a good cheap option that does the job! I hope this helps! Laneige linked : LANEIGE Lip Glowy Balm – Lightweight Hydration Lip Treatment with Shea Butter

Re: Lip Care

so i've actually been using vaseline and it's not been working for me

Re: Lip Care

@KatiLmb , have you tried any of the other suggestions by chance, like the Aquaphor or CeraVe that @WinglessOne mentioned? Lanolips?

Also, try exfoliating the dry skin with your toothbrush or a damp cloth and then put water (or even a bit of hyaluronic acid) and then the steps below 👇🏽

Also, if you want a direct response sooner, use '@' and then the person's username.

Re: Lip Care

@KatiLmb  The most occlusive (water loss preventing) moisturizer on the market is petrolatum. A tub of plain ol’ Vaseline (or any generic petroleum jelly) can do wonders for dry lips. So can other petrolatum balms: I use Aquaphor Ointment as my daily lip balm (avoid it if you’re sensitive to lanolin), but some folks prefer CeraVe Healing Ointment. I like to tap a little water (not saliva; frequently licking your lips can worsen the dryness) on my lips and then apply balm to seal in some moisture. Aquaphor and CeraVe’s balms also contain humectants that can draw more moisture into your lips.

At night, I use a lip serum under Aquaphor to help hydrate my chronically dry lips and give ‘em an antioxidant boost. My favorite is Good Light Taste of Space Lip Milk, available at Ulta if you’re in the US. It’s fairly inexpensive and works great for me. Always apply a balm over it though, as it’s not very moisturizing on its own.
