How do you pick the right shade?

I want a red or dark red to really pop

I you have a yellow undertone, choose one that looks like it's almost orange or yellowish.  If you have pink/red undertone, choose one that looks like it has a blue tone to it.  When I started trying out different lipstick shades and didn't know where to start, I bought a few of the wet n wild ones, because they're so cheap.  They have a handful of red toned lipsticks.

@Madolync123 Undertones can change how a lipstick looks a lot, so trying things on is always a good idea. I like to look up lipstick swatches on people who have the same undertones as me on google or YouTube. Sephora also has a virtual try on option on the app, where you can upload a picture of yourself to see what lipsticks might look like
