It’s that time of the year again Beauty Insider Community: National Lipstick Day (July 29^th) - woohoo! 💄 One of my favorite things about being a part of BIC is being able to celebrate fun moments like this with all my fellow beauty lovers in this amazing community. ❤️

To give the spotlight on one of the most popular makeup categories, let’s talk about all things lippie! Over the years, we have seen a big transformation in the lip product scene – there’s now lipstick, lip gloss, lip tints, lip oils, lip stains, lip balms, and more – there are so many fun options to pick from!

Gorgeous lipstick and look @haleyvvvv ! Beautiful! I love MatteTrance formula. I also love Sephora Collection cream lip stain liquid lipsticks. I have just purchased SEPHORA COLLECTION Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick 39 Frozen Strawberry and SEPHORA COLLECTION Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick 72 Alter Ego taking advantage of the 50% sale. I would have also purchased 40 Pink Tea, but they changed the shade to a very grey color ☹️

@HeatherAriana  Oh, how do you like those Fenty lip stains? Are they truly hydrating (or at least not drying)? I kept meaning to try one but still haven't. Strawberry Sangria looks great on you!

Thanks! It is hydrating and it feels so light on the lips. Not heavy at all. You'll love it and it does leave a pretty stain on the lips.

Oh gosh, this would be the longest BIC post I’ve ever written if I tried to list and explain all my favorite lipsticks in one go. 🤣 Lipstick and brow pencil are the only 2 makeup items I never leave home without. I own over 400 lipsticks (again, despite my massive declutter a couple years ago… sigh), most of which are bullets and crayons—and that’s excluding products specifically marketed as multipurpose, like all my Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Eye, Cheek & Lip Cream Pigment Blossom (can’t tag ‘em without picking a random shade) or NARS The Multiple Cream Blush, Lip and Eye Stick . I cannot pick a favorite or go-to lipstick. I have too many faves. 

Maybe I’ll come back later and post some hand/arm/lip swatches of a few faves within various color ranges. Actually I can call MAC Liptensity Stallion my favorite of all the black lipsticks I own. I’ll never understand why MAC discontinued the Liptensity bullets and liners, aka the absolute best lipsticks MAC has ever made (and I’ve worn MAC since 1990). 

Meanwhile, here’s a small “lipstick faves” photo dump of old pictures I posted on BIC for the 100 Days of Lipstick Challenge , other lipstick threads, and swatch request threads: 

Gucci Rouge a Levres Valentine Verdante, 1 of my 2 favorite teal lipsticks. (The other is ColourPop Lux Getty.)Top to bottom: Fenty Mattemoiselle in Turks & Caicos, ColourPop Lux in Getty, MUFE Artist Rouge in C603, Gucci Rouge a Levres in Valentine Verdante, Guerlain Rouge G in 111.A few black lipsticks. Squid Ink is a blue so dark, it’s almost black.Lancôme Silver Metamorphose, a discontinued bullet shade. All others are MAC bullet shades.Black lipstick can be bright with enough ombre application. 😄MAC Liptensity Stallion, my favorite black lipstick.

Side note: scrolling through my BIC photo album was super slow and frustrating. I wish BIC/Lithium had a more user-friendly interface for photo browsing. I’d love to move all my lipstick photos to their own sub folder, but I assume that’d break image URLs in old threads. I’m shocked I didn’t get timed out while trying to browse my photo album. 😂

These aren't necessarily my top faves of my entire lipstick collection; they're just my faves for the teal and black color ranges. 😉 There are also favorites in the not-teal blues, not-teal greens, purples, fuchsias, pinks, berries, reds (and within that category, orange reds, oxbloods, true/classic reds, etc.), oranges/terracottas, rosewoods, browns, and shade adjusters/toppers like silver, gold, copper, white, grey, and yellow—though I do occasionally wear some of those adjuster/toppers as full lip shades.
