Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
Ohh I love these hot tropical colours @WinglessOne -cool ❤️ I’ve had spicy buffalo chicken burritos on the brain for a week now lol.
At the mall yesterday I went into NYX to test out their new concealer and hydrating primer. Excellent works so good on my skin and the setting powder. Bought a lot of stuff that I wanted. Today I’m wearing the mustard shade I think it’s 701? From a Melt Cosmetics. It’s a smooth matte bullet lipstick. It’s the only shade that has a number. I topped it with an icy green metallic duochrime lipgloss from NYX.
Thank you @ather yes so many colour options it’s mind blowing.
@2manyperfumes you rock so many combos. I love this! Love the hair too!
Thanks @divaknits love to experiment with highlights.
@2manyperfumes Very cool shade. And awesome haul😍😍
Thank you @katkapivarci yes it was a successful haul lol
@2manyperfumes I love this lip combo on you. Also, your complexion here looks flawless!
Thank you @sprocketta somedays my skin is really temperamental but I did face mask yesterday and that primer and concealer from NYX with the setting powder really gave a smooth finish.
@2manyperfumes I love that combo! I can see some of the gloss shift in your first photo. I also see you bought the green NYX bullet I almost picked up instead of Ace. 🙂 That’ll be fun! I already have a possibly similar green (a Sephora Color Story) so I skipped it. But it looks interesting!
Thanks @WinglessOne that’s so funny that we both considered each other’s shade. I was going to get those others but my senses came back and I controlled myself for now.
Awesome find! What a unique and lovely color, never thought of mustard for lipstick 🙂 @2manyperfumes
Thanks @Buootiful me neither until I saw it used on a cosmetics site and it looked so nice on the model. Figured hmmm she has similar colouring to me so why not try it.
NYX Suede Matte Lipstick in Ace. So, some of you know I love blue lipsticks and that I’ve ditched a few during this challenge. Ace is a lighter, warmer shade of blue—more of a sky blue—than I’d normally pick, which is exactly why I picked it. I also wanted to give NYX bullets another chance, especially since I’ve sworn off all their liquid lipsticks. (Each one I’ve ever tried was a terrible performer.) The Suede Matte formula has a velvet finish that’s featherweight and not too drying. It applied a bit patchy on my bottom lip, requiring some smoothing out. It cracks a bit, but I can rub my lips together to redistribute color.
A few sips of coffee wears down the inner bottom lip a lot. Rubbing lips to redistribute color fixes this, temporarily. For all the wear on my bottom lip, transfer was surprisingly minimal on my cup. And Ace doesn’t bleed or feather at all. It does have a faint scent, kinda like candy... like SweeTarts or Pixy Stix. Can’t smell it 5-10 minutes after application.
I won’t rave about NYX Suede Mattes the way I do about ColourPop Luxes. But I’ll keep Ace: it’s a unique shade in my collection, and I can probably make it behave better on my bottom lip with a little primer or lip liner base. I’m not ready to give up on it yet. 🙂 Not too shabby, NYX!
@WinglessOne Such a pretty colour on you! I’m glad it performs better then others!
Thanks for feeding my addiction @WinglessOne. Now I want it. 😄 Looks great on you!
