100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Confession time. I ordered this TF lippie so I could get a free mini lippie with my order. I may have a problem. This is Tom Ford in Jack. A nice reddish plum color — right up my alley!

It’s darker IRL than it looks here.

Another bout of gloomy rainy weather, and I am on another dark lip streak. 

Smashbox Always On matte liquid lipstick in True Grit. I loved this rich dark brown, but I encountered a weird problem with it. I bought this tube about 6 months ago and now, though I didn't use it or open the tube that much, it looks drying out. Does anyone know a way to revive a liquid lipstick? 

 

MAC Liptensity lipstick in Stallion. This is part of a new haul. I wanted one perfectly black lipstick, and I think I found it 🙂

@Krysa13 I almost wore Stallion today instead of Punk Couture. 🙂 It’s a fantastic black shade. Looks amazing on you! 

I usually hear folks recommend adding a teeny tiny amount of oil to a tube of dried-up liquid matte. Coconut oil is what most people try. I’ve never tried it myself because I’m not convinced additional oil won’t mess with the original formula somehow. But if you really wanna save True Grit, you could try the oil hack.

@Krysa13, I had a Colour Pop matte liquid that was horrible and I was able to save it with Castor oil. I just looked at the base(1st ingredient of the formula) and found it was an emollient and then searched for other emollients and castor oil came up. Castor oil has a thicker consistency and wont harden like coconut oil if it gets cold. @WinglessOne is right in being cautious,  maybe I just got lucky.

MAC Matte in Punk Couture. I don’t wear this purple often because it doesn’t last as long as others—but it does leave behind a bold ombré. First photo is right after application, second one’s after a cup of coffee.
