Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
That shade is very pretty on you and compliments your skin tone. It’s fresh and not too light or dark.
Lipstick Challenge continued with velvet teddy - MAC Cosmetics lipstick - it’s such a good formula and I usually will wear it a neutral brown toned lip liner, dab a bit of highlighter in gold on upper lip and a bit of clear gloss. Off topic I had the best lighting from the sun this morning to do my makeup so I pulled out out the big guns (a Pat McGrath palette). My eyeshadow collection is second to the lip products, then there’s the perfumes, skincare, nail polishes and highlighters. I hope I’m not the only one with these issues 🙀 please share so I can feel better about myself 😬
Thank you so much 😊
Thank you 😊
Fabulous lipstick. @2manyperfumes How do you apply the highlighter I have never done that? It looks so pretty
I use a little fan brush or my fingertips to apply a bit of highlighter on upper lip (cupid’s bow) then I use my lip liner, lip stick and then a little dab of highlighter just in the center of both upper and lower lips. Sometimes I will add a touch of gloss to keep my lips from feeling dry plus it amplifies the shimmer.
@2manyperfumes Velvet Teddy is very pretty on you!
I definitely have more lipsticks than any other type of makeup item. I’m supposed to be on a lipstick low-buy this year, and I haven’t tallied up my bought vs. decluttered lipsticks for February yet because honestly, I’m kinda afraid to. 😂 I’ve downsized my total lipstick collection to around 200. (I really hope the number’s under 200.) I have so much lipstick because it’s the makeup item I wear most of all, aside from brow pencil.
Tallying up my other makeup items (the ones I actually use): 70 single shadows, excluding loose pigments (I have only 5 of those); 26 eyeliners, including clay pots; 20 lip liners; 18 single blushes and 2 blush palettes; 14 eyeshadow palettes; and 13 mascaras, some of which I’ll purge soon. I have less than 10 of other types of makeup items. Oh, and brushes... 37, plus the 2 double-ended ones that came with palettes that I use only for brush-swatching.
I have a fair amount of perfume, but less than I used to. Skincare is a revolving thing for me since I frequently test products, so I won’t tally that up yet. And nail polish, oh boy... that’s one thing I need to organize better. I have bottles all over the place. I honestly have no idea how much nail polish I own. I’m sure I need to purge some of the older bottles. 😄
I’m positive there are folks in this thread who have more of each makeup item than I do, so you’re definitely in great company here!
Wow I feel better already lol I’m in good company is right. I’m afraid to count but I think 60 Nail Polish shades and possibly 50 perfumes from travel to full size.
My eyeshadow palette collection is fierce. Nowhere near my lipstick obsession, but it has it’s own case just as my lipsticks do. I also have highlighters, mascaras, lipliners, eyeliners, brow pomade, brow pencils, a few foundations, concealers, and assorted brushes. Let’s not even talk about skincare, a lot of which comes from my Play box. Unfortunately they do a lot of repeats so I rarely have to go buy anything. BTW, you look great!
Thank you I did my pumpkin enzyme mask last night (face), retouched my green lowlights and a hair mask lol. That is a fierce collection! My daughters have told me that I’m not allowed to purchase any more palettes haaa. I keep my singles in makeup boxes and my palettes in file case. I know off the top of my head I have 21 palettes from minis to z-palettes and collection.
This is Lipstick Queen Cupid’s Bow in Metamorphosis, darkened a bit at the outer corners with Cupid’s Bow in Apollo. Semi-matte finish, very comfy, long lasting, and this one doesn’t bleed at all. I wish LQ had made more shades of these crayons! I love ‘em.
Lipsticks I’ve worn so far:
You’ve worn close to the number I have total so far. I don’t think I’ll be adding anything else until I do some decluttering. I can’t anyway. I’ve run out of room. Unfortunately, I have a hard time letting go of certain things, makeup included. I thought this challenge was supposed to make me wear what I have, but the more I see on y’all, the more all the colors call to me. 😄
Lol 😂 I would get a bigger container for them
@divaknits Letting go can be difficult, but think of it as making room for newer, better things. 🙂
I think it’s really pretty and flattering on you. Orange and pink shades perfect for springtime. Fresh! I only have the pink by Lipstick Queen (easy to apply 😀)
