100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Day 48: ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick in Appy. At first I tried this on the other week and I was a bit thrown off. I wasn’t sure about the color until I wore t again today and saw it was a bit flattering. I would say it’s more of a warm-ish beige, instead of “warm pinky beige” as they call it. Not sure if I have a similar one but I think this would be a great office type of lipstick, don’t you think?

@sprocketta Thank you! Some colors throw me off so if I'm not sure, I keep them aside and try them again. Sometimes it helps if I wear a different color shirt LOL! I'm happy I didn't throw this out right away. And I LOVE ColourPop! Such an amazing quality for the price!

 Yesterday, Meh day of lipstick and Today , NARS liquid lipstick to make up for it.
Per @WinglessOne  and @cianni   interest, here is UD Vice lipstick in bad blood with Smashbox Insta-matte.  Couldnt find the Smashbox transformer and it turns out it was with my lipsticks and not the Smashbox corner I have. That was a frantic search for 10min to start the day, lol 🙂 I applied the lipstick with the mini bullet and per the SB instructions, my fingers for the insta-matte. It was messy and didnt "harden" to make crisp lines like I thought it would 😞 didnt have time to re-do so I left it like this. While I was out the door, I decided to grab a lip brush to use it with the Insta-matte later on. I also thought this was more of a brownish red but its now looking more as a blue red.

So, it did go into my fine lines but not too noticeable. It got a little worse when I ate a sandwhich. I put everything on again after lunch but with the brush and focused on the edges. I will see how it goes with Dinner. ...ok, I think it went well, it worked better with the instamatte brush application. Plus, I ate a greasy meatball sandwich for dinner.  But, i was always dissatisfief with the crispness of the lines. Definitely this needs a liner, regardless of the instamatte.with Instamatte brush application after greasy sandwich

 Ahhhh, back to my beloved NARS! Mini NARS Power matte Lip pigment in Star Woman. I got this as a GWP at ULTA and I think this is going to replace the UD Liquid lipstick 714(?). Less drying but better payoff color. Guess I will be wearing all red this week 🙂NARS Powermatte in Starwoman

@Buootiful  Starwoman looks stunning on you!  I could never understand why anyone would want to mattify a good cream lipstick, though.  But I never caught the matte bug, I guess.

Well shoot, I had high hopes for the Smashbox Insta-matte. Bad Blood’s outline doesn’t look terrible in your photos, but I know what you mean about a fuzzy lip line when you really want a crisp line. The Bad Blood bullet really shouldn’t bleed at all since it’s a matte (that’s what I think to myself each time I wear that shade) but, well... Thanks for testing the combo, though! And Starwoman looks great on you!

ROFLMAO!! @cianni 🙂 :).  Its ok, your'e pun talk more than made up for it. 🙂 And then, now I have a hankering to try the Weekly wow brow brush(say tht 3x!) as a lip brush and it's sold out. Oh well.

Day 100

On the last day of the challenge I wanted to go back to where it all began:

 

This is L'Oreal Color Riche in 297, Red Passion. This is not just the first lipstick, but the first makeup item of all that I ever bought and wore in my life, about 8 years ago, in February 2011.Back then it was worn on its own, without anything else, so now it felt quite special for me to style it properly with all the bells and whistles, like mascara, blush and setting spray. This is the lipstick that earned me my colleagues' surprise at the fact that I wear makeup at all. This is the lipstick of which my mom heartily disapproved because it is "too bright" and "inappropriate". This is the only piece of makeup that I brought in my suitcase when moving from Israel to the US. Here is the tube with a somewhat faded Hebrew label:

Now, when my makeup stash became big and full of fancier items, I still love this little beauty because it played a big part in me becoming the person I am today.
