100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

I hadn't tried any Guerlain lip products (though I bought myself some Meteorites the day I paid off my student loans), so I had to pick one up when I saw some in the sale section last week. Here's GUERLAIN - La Petite Robe Noire Deliciously Shiny Lipstick - 068 Mauve Gloves. It's a bit more glittery than I usually go for, and it kind of has a strong, fruity scent for the first 30 minutes or so, but it's hydrating and leaves a nice stain after the shine wears off.

I found a little trove of Sephora collection lip products at the bottom of my lip drawer, so I’m giving this a try today. I used to love this formula, I have a few of them, but I think the last of them are on sale now (for a prettt good price actually). This is the Sephora Collection Luster Matte Long Wear Lip Color in Russet Luster. I think when I ordered it originally it was after a glass of wine and I thought it was “rust luster”, so was a little surprised when I received it but I still like it 😂

@cianni “Rust Luster” sounds like an old Urban Decay lipstick name. 😂 I miss the days when UD was still a new little brand and had more edge. But this color looks fantastic on you! What don’t you like about the formula?

@WinglessOne I still like it! When I first tried the formula, I had pretty limited exposure to different brands and formulas so I remember being sooo amazed by it at the time. It’s actually still pretty good - comfortable, non-drying. Pretty good staying power too but if I don’t use a lip scrub before I find that it kinda settles into any dryness or lines as the day wears on. And definitely not transfer proof either

@cianni Ah, I see. It’s funny how amazed we are by some product formulas, until we discover better ones. 😄 But it’s even better when we still like the previous products. I’m glad you still like this one, because that color’s perfect for you.
