100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Agreed, @cianni! I think I got this mini in a Sephora Favorites set a couple years ago. I definitely need to use it more. I really loved how it looked throughout the day 🤗

Day 39: Givenchy Le Rouge in 2018 Rouge Couture Edition N315 Framboise. Nice berry plum shade! Givenchy labels it as “deep” but I’m not that sure if it is or not but I like it anyway! Ive had trouble with finding a plum shade that worked well and I’m glad I found this even if it has some berry in it ☺️ It bleeds a tiny bit as is expected with a satin finish plus a deeper shade but I’m fine with it! I love the Le Rouge line so I don’t mind!

This is Landing in Shanghi Cream Lipstick from Sephora’s Midnight Kisses gift set. The only way I’d wear this is with my MAC Chestnut Lip Liner. Then it looks like a nude. I may rock this from time to time, but it won’t be a regular contender.

Lipstick Queen All That Jazz in Paint The Town

Love the color, love the texture, love everything...except the scent. I didn't find it too bad with my first application of the one I wore yesterday, but much like with the Givenchy gloss I tried a couple of weeks ago, it got to me more and more every time I reapplied it. I was hoping yesterday's was a fluke, but no, this one has the same heavy waxy scent that just leaves a bad taste in my mouth as the day wears on 😥 I'm at least glad to figure this out before ordering the third one I had been contemplating...

@RGbrown I had the same reaction to Paint The Town, and I only wore it for 2 minutes during my “ooooh gotta try on ALL the new pretties before washing my face for the night” spree. That really sucks because, like you, I love everything else about this shade. 😞 At least it looks great on you! 

Part of me wants to try throwing a scented lip balm over this to mask the funky wax smell. 😄 I doubt that’d work but you never know.

I even contemplated trying to melt it down and add some scent, perhaps peppermint oil or something fruity. 😛 But it really is a shame...I'm not one to have an "everyday" lippie...I enjoy swapping up my shades, but I could see this one being my grab n' go shade that works with most any eye look I'd ever do. A lot of the balmier, sheerer shades tend to get patchy on me or settle in my lines, but this one is perfect...if only it didn't stink 😞

I think this is my day 82... definitely my lipsticks 95-97. I decided to wear a soft “neutral” pink or rose shade today but couldn’t decide which one. Welcome to my decision process. 

MUFE Rouge Artist Natural in N10: I rarely wear this, and this photo shows me why I should ditch it. Too pale a pink for my liking, and the slight iridescent shimmer doesn’t help much. I remember kinda liking this when I first got it and I have no idea why. This will go in the declutter box.

MUFE Artist Rouge Mat in M102: Now this is my kind of “wearable” (according to the masses 😂) pink. I should wear this more often. Though, now I wonder if one of my newer MatteTrances is a dupe of this. I’ll have to swatch and see. The MatteTrance formula feels more comfy than these MUFE matte bullets.

Pat McGrath Lip Fetish Balm in Ultra Vixen: I’ve been trying not to wear more PMGs for the rest of this challenge, as a way to force myself to wear older lipstick shades in my collection. But I couldn’t resist this one today. This is the one I stuck with all day. It felt especially nice after wiping off the previous matte. I have several of these balms. I know some folks don’t like them but I love ‘em. This one does feather a bit, though not enough to be super noticeable.

@lmaster Right? I mean, if I wanted a very nude no-lips look, I’d just wear foundation on my mouth instead of a too-pale lipstick. 😂
