100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Day 90. Besame 7 Dwarves set, this is Grumpy. I seriously adore this color. It's so flattering on me. The texture is weird and waxy, so hopefully I can find a dupe in a different formula. This actually wears pretty well, though.

That really is a flattering coral on you, @sprocketta ! I bet there’s a ColourPop Lux dupe. I wonder if there’s a MAC dupe? Might be worth taking that bullet to the MAC standalone store (or to Nordstrom next door) and asking for the MAC equivalent. I mean, not to give you a reason to go lipstick shopping... 🙂

Day 92, lipstick 107: Pat McGrath Lip Fetish Balm in Full Fantasy. This was in a full size trio I bought during one of PMG direct’s sales last year. It looks scary (to me) in the tube: the kind of hot coral-leaning pink I usually run from. 😨 But knowing how sheer some Lip Fetish balms are on me, I bought the trio anyway—and I like this one! It’s sheer enough that you can tell my top lip’s a bit darker than my bottom lip. But it’s not so sheer that it has no color impact (my lips are not naturally that shade of pink 😂). Same balmy comfort as other Lip Fetishes, and this one doesn’t feather on me.

This looks very nice on you @WinglessOne  I've been tempted by those fetish balms but again, sticker shock.  How does it wear?

Thanks @sprocketta ! This one holds up pretty well (for a tinted balm) to cups of coffee, but a meal destroys it. If it pools into lip lines a bit while I drink coffee, I can easily fix it by quickly rubbing my lips together. You’ll definitely feel it on your lips, which annoys some people: if you’ve ever used the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, imagine a very light coating of that on your lips. But to me, the Lip Fetishes are very comfy. No extra balm needed beneath them: they work best on bare lips.

Thanks @Buootiful ! It’s a balmy -1F today. It’s amazing how “warm” that temp can feel. 😂 Middle of next week will be in the high 40s/low 50s, which will feel like a heatwave after this week.

Thanks @RebeccaBT ! The Lip Fetishes are great for winter, mostly because of their balm texture. The more sheer shades also leave less of a pigmented mess on winter scarves. 😂

Hey @WinglessOne you were right. Bite’s Peacock Pearl looks great on top of KVD’s Daydreamer. So glad you’ve given me a way to keep this. I actually thought about tossing it. Thanks bunches. As y’all remember, Daydreamer was the bane of my existence. All done.

Day 48: ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick in Appy. At first I tried this on the other week and I was a bit thrown off. I wasn’t sure about the color until I wore t again today and saw it was a bit flattering. I would say it’s more of a warm-ish beige, instead of “warm pinky beige” as they call it. Not sure if I have a similar one but I think this would be a great office type of lipstick, don’t you think?
