Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
@heartsmyface oh man, this is on me! I should've given you the full warning! With products like Sun Chips, which have such powerful active ingredients, there is a purging phase before the full effects settle in at their best potential. You are going to go through what we like to call a "Chip Yeti" phase. All the chippy goodness is going to sprout... EVERYWHERE... before finally settling in all the places you want it to: Head, brows, kneestache, left ankle beard, etc.
Geez, this is bad! Had I known about the ‘purging phase’, I would’ve started with more diluted SunChips (a Munchies blend perhaps) and only eaten them every two or theee days until I built up a tolerance. I’m feeling a bit salty. @NotCrocker
I am so sorry! @heartsmyface Be careful with those combo products, I can't even tell you how long it took me to get rid of the pretzel side effects last time I tried to work Munchies into my routine. The effects were generally great, but the pretzel ears took some getting used to.
That said, everybody reacts differently! What was pretzel ears for me, could be as-promised luxurious lashes. Munchies reactions are a real mixed bag!
@RGbrown Gif avatars make me feel like I am part of the wizarding world. And also this one in particular serves to remind me that I need to learn how to curl my own hair (this was straight from the stylist).
Glad you're joining @heartsmyface. The color looks a little too pink for poinsettas. Looks great on you though. Very nice!
@sprocketta Right? It’s definitely too pink, but I didn’t think it was red (neither did I know the name) when I bought it so there’s no disappointment.
So after all the selfie advice I took a few pics and realized I didn't improve. I just look unhappy here. Oh well.Today is Clinique Long Last Glosswear in Tenderheart. My holy grail lip gloss. The MLBB. That was discontinued. 😞
@sprocketta Very pretty color! Too bad it’s discontinued. Have you found a good dupe?
Ooh I wish I had seen this sooner! But being sick has kept me away, can't wait to join when Ifeel better.
There you are, Hi @Samtian@! I hope you feel better soon so you can join in in the fun! 🙂 Feel better!!!
Feel better @Samtian. You can show off a lip color with Apollo by your side. It's a 100 day challenge so we'll be here for a while.
I wanna put lipstick on just to participate!
Day 12: NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Low Rider
I reaaaaalllly need to work on taking selfies. I feel like I can't take a flattering picture, much less one that is flattering and shows the lipstick color well! Anyway, here is one of my NARS powermattes. They definitely last, but I find them to be a bit drying, so I don't wear them often.
Oh @snoflakefaerie, this color is lovely on you. I am super envious of your hair because I work for a stuffy insurance company that would never let me have fun hair again like I did when I was in high school. Sorry, moving on...I struggle with selfies too. Trust me, you look great, even if you think you don't. We're all just super self-conscious.
Thank you @sprocketta@ I think someone said it on this thread how we're our own worst critics and that definitely seems to be true. It's nice to have such positivity from everyone
Anyway, I'm so happy I work at a place where I can dress and style myself more creatively. I used to work at an engineering consulting firm and never could have gotten away with this, so I understand the feeling. At least you can wear fun lipsticks! Gotta find the joy (and rebellion) where possible!
@snoflakefaerie Low Rider looks great on you! It’s one of the 4 Powermatte shades that don’t work for me, but it definitely works for you.
I can’t wear any liquid matte without a bit of lip balm and a lip primer. With that base, the Powermattes are the 2nd most comfy mattes I own. I wish they felt as good on everyone else. Now I’m thinking of all the liquid mattes that feel kinda yucky on my lips, and wondering if they’ll make it into this 100-day rotation... like the OFRA blue matte I tolerate only because the color’s amazing. I’m kinda not looking forward to wearing that one. 😄
Thanks @WinglessOne I do really like this color. I used primer with it (which I often forget to do) but I think I should have had more of or a better balm underneath. Things to keep in mind for the next time, I suppose! I often shy away from using the liquid lipsticks I have because they are more drying, but then it's like, what's the point of even having them!
