100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

@WinglessOne Thanks! I think it would be quite difficult for me to get it since I live in Canada and if I order from Ulta it will cost me twice the amount + Customs ... But there are both a MAC and Sephora store 5 minutes away so I might try the MAC lip primer!

Tom Ford Lips & Boys in Peter

@jozkid This is really subtle, but it looks lovely.  I've been tempted by the Tom Ford lipstickers but I get sticker shock when I look at the price.  Are they worth it?

In all honesty @sprocketta, it really depends on the color. Temptalia did not rate the one I have on very highly. I like the color, it fills a hole in my collection for that kind of shade, but it’s not stellar. I also have Bruised Plum, which is a full-size color (talk about sticker shock!) which applies better and lasts longer. 

If if you have the choice, go for one of the smaller ones (the Boys or Girls). The price bite isn’t quite so bad and you have a prayer of finishing it. I have heard some people say their lippies turned on them kind of quickly. Ugh

When my no buy ends I will have to swatch in store. I would definitely go with the boys and girls since I've never finished a full size lipstick.

@snoflakefaerie I know how you feel with the metallics.  I'm iffy on them but then really end up enjoying them.  It looks really nice on you, though.  I have the same formula in In Bloom and love it.  My only complaint is that it makes the lines in my lips ultra-visible.

@snoflakefaerie I think this is a great colour on you! I am always iffy on metalics for myself, and have no idea why! This is definitely one that I've had in and out of my cart in the past few months! Also, you are looking very Evan Rachel Wood here, and I love it!

Aw, thanks @NotCrocker@@  I always think I'm going to look straight out of the 80s wearing metallic lipsticks, but I always love how they look. I'm not sure I would have purchased this by itself when I got it in the Sephora Give Me Some New Lip sampler, but I do really like this formula. I have it in Maneater and I looooove it. If you like the color, it's probably worth checking out, especially on (double) sal

Tues 8/14

I am so bad at seeing colors but this is Urban decay lo-fi lip mousse in Boom. It says it has a red shimmer to it but I don't see it at all. I love the color/feel and its replacing my hourglass liquid lip in empressa once its gone. I wish there was a way to give that away. The downside to liquid lip 😞

Tarte tarteist lip paint in Birthday suit. This is my meh lipstick, got it for ulta bday last year. Prob only the 3rd time to wear it and 2x was just swatching on my lips.

@Buootiful Boom is a really nice, rich color on you.  I agree, I don't see the red shift, but I'm not getting a close look.  Is Birthday Suit meh for the color or the formula?

Thanks! @sprocketta. Yeah, I didn't like the color of Birthday Suit and the formula is good. It stays on pretty well with eating which is always a thing for me. Now that I have worn mascara with it, I'm starting to like it 🙂
