Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
Lovely shade of lipstick.
Gorgeous color! But I have to ask whatcha don't like about the formula? I have this shade, but can't remember off the top of my head if it's the old Revolution formula or the newer Vice (Revolution, I think)...I can't recall disliking it. I don't think I've worn it yet for the challenge; may have to reacquaint myself with it! 😄
Hey there @RGbrown! It’s not that I hate the formula. It’s fine. But there are others like NARS Audacious I find more moisturizing and longer wearing and therefore superior (with a color that is very similar).
I don't recall if this was a 100 pointer or if I got it in a play box or some giveaway, but it found it’s way into my collection. So also not sure if it’s old or new formula.
Very pretty @jozkid! Autocorrect changed that at first to “berry pretty” which Also fits 😂. The UD formulas are a little hit or miss for sure. also LOVE the eye look. I think I saw somewhere that it was a look from another go with the Ciate Glitter Storm? Looks beautiful!
@cianni Yup! You’re right! Both work. 😁
You’re also right about the eyes. I was playing with the Glitter Storm Palette again. Thank you!
Marc Jacobs So Rouge.
This is such a vibrant red @Samtian ! You wear it so well, gorgeous! ❤️
Gorgeous lips, on a lovely face.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that the sales weren't too hard on your wallets 🤑
It was a crazy few days here so I'm behind, but that means I get to share two pics instead of just one 😋
The day before Thanksgiving, I wore PMG Full Panic. It pulls a bit lighter IRL, which makes it a bit more "Barbie pink" than I normally go for, and it seems a smidge drier than the other two shades in the trio. I wound up taking it off after a few hours. Shrug.
Thanksgiving day, I wore one of my Lancome Lacquers, but didn't get a chance to snap a pic. No pic means I get to wear it again, yes? 😂
Today, I am kicking it oooooold school with Revlon's Cherries In The Snow. I picked this up solely based on nostalgia during Ulta's Cyber Fundays (ok, the $5 price didn't hurt either 😅). My great aunt was an Estee Lauder junkie for most all of her makeup and fragrance, but Revlon was her nail polish of choice, and this was one of her favorite shades.
Ouhhhh, the ever lovely NC:). And dang, cherries in the snow is so pretty!!!! I was expecting it to be some high end lipstick. Happy surprise! @NotCrocker
While I certainly take it as a compliment, I'm not sure the oh so lovely @NotCrocker will appreciate being confused with me. Besides, there's no Sun Chip dust on my shoulders, so I'm not sure how you got us mixed up in the first place? Tee hee 😛 😛 😛
Cherries In The Snow has been a surprise hit for me...it stayed comfy, barely wore down, even with eating, and has been an all around pleasure to wear!
@heartsmyface Haha oh yes, this definitely not me! But @RGbrown is really rocking the magentas! Cherries in the Snow is really lovely, what a nice sheen to it!
And truly @RGbrown, happy to be confused for you, you always rock some great looks! And sometimes I like to imagine what my hair could be sans SunChips. The crunch gets unruly sometimes!
@RGbrownHaha I'm wearing the Cherries in the Snow nail polish right now. Both colors look great on you!
Thanks so much!
I had to do a little digging...I remembered the shade from my childhood, so I knew it had been around a good long while, but dang...1952! 😮
@RGbrownI decided to look up the history of the nail polish. Here's a copy of what I read, talking about red nail polish:
The first commercial incarnation was created in 1932. In the midst of America's Great Depression the only shades of nail enamel available were pale and transparent. Brothers Charles and Joseph Revson paired up with a chemist named Charles Lachman (the 'L' in Revlon) to create the first opaque nail enamel. They did this by introducing a pigmented formula, which they sold door-to-door, starting with "Cherries in the Snow", a red that remains a bestseller.
Oh, that old? Wow! I saw so many conflicting dates, but '52/'53 seemed like the general consensus...I wonder if they meant that's when it started moving from door-to-door or low-scale production into a more mass market item? In any case, it's definitely a classic, and a lovely one at that!
