100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

I love the Champagne Cream on you @SnugglePuggle94 ❤️ I don’t know why they come up with bizarre lipstick names! Champagne Cream sounds more like a neutral colour with a hint of shimmer!

@SnugglePuggle94 that looks so nice on you! My personal lip style would be very natural so it wouldn't be *my* everyday lip. But I think it is a very wearable shade and agree with others that you should wear it often.

@SnugglePuggle94 Heh, I’m totally the wrong person to judge the wearability of any bright or bold lipstick color. (To me, they’re all wearable! 😄) But I like this one a lot on you! It seems to fit in with your love of pinks; it’s a nice vibrant option for you.

I really appreciate how you can rock so many colors @WinglessOne. I am going to try and expand my horizons by using all my samples this year..though red is probably the boldest shade. But just wanted to say your pictures and others have inspired me to get more into lip products.

I have the same issue with red lipsticks @ShortErica ! I can wear purples, pinks, green, or any unusual color but red scares me 😱! I only wear them when I’m alone or not going anywhere! I don’t know why I’m scared of wearing red lipstick in public?

@keana1 - wow! Green would intimidate me more than red but red for me seems a special occasion color. I feel like so many people in this thread look awesome in a bold lip but I always think it would just look odd on me. Have you posted a picture of you in red on here? I'm sure it's just something crazy in our minds that makes us hesitant.

I agree with you @ShortErica , we must have a mental block when it comes to wearing red lipsticks ! The green lipstick that I used to wear was a MAC lipstick in the shade called Blade, it was olive green with some shimmer. I unfortunately had to dispose of it because it had dried and tasted like old lipstick ! I hope that MAC would reissue this color, they did resurrect some colors this year but not Blade ! I look great with reds, I’m sure that you do too ! But we’re both stuck with this problem! I even have a red lip liner to avoid bleeding and I’m still stuck with the red lipstick issue ! I try to wear reds but I always end up removing them and wear another color instead! 🤯

Thanks @ShortErica! For a long time, I shied away from brown and green lipsticks. This year I decided to give those shades a serious chance. Brown shades took more easing into than greens—a longer adjustment period—but now I’m comfortable with them, and I’ve learned which colors in the brown and green families really don’t work for me. I’m sure that’s how it is for everyone branching into colors they wouldn’t normally wear. Just takes an adjustment period, and before you know it, you’ll have a few favorite reds in your collection. 🙂

Day 18! This is the face you make when it’s your last work day before Christmas! Wearing Smashbox Always On Matte in Maneater. Yesterday I was wearing the ABH liquid lip in Crush with the UD hi-fi shine gloss in Naked on top. I have a mini size that I got as part of the Give Me More Lip set. It is the weirdest thing - the gloss looks pinky in the tube, but it went on completely colourless? It has a nice minty feel to it like the Buxom glosses. I probably wouldn’t purchase a full size in that color at least.

@ShortErica I’m sure some of us will post some kind of “what I learned” summary. 🙂 @snoflakefaerie did for her 100th lipstick not too long ago. I agree: that’d be fun to see from everyone who reaches 100 (or whatever number they set for themselves)!
