100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

@Buootiful I love this look! The blue-ish color  is surprisingly wearable. Maybe I’ve seen too many colors on here, now everything looks wearable 😂 congrats on finishing! And for your final thoughts. Happy you were able to embrace bold colors - they certainly work for you as far as I can tell 😍😍

Day 79. Dose of Colors Classic Lipstick in Heartbeat. I love the color and the packaging, but putting it on was terrible. Not a smooth process at all. I couldn't get a clean line with this. It looks wobbly, because it applied that way. Not impressed.

 

 ETA this smeared badly on my face just drinking from a glass.

@sprocketta too bad for the smearing. The colour looks pretty and the wobbly application actually has its bright sides: it creates this "undone" lip that's all the rage right now. I think makes lips look fuller.

@Krysa13 "undone"?  That seems like such a silly trend.  I love the color but wouldn't want to wear this one again.

This is a lovely shiny red on you! @sprocketta It's not too wobbly and I like the bottom lipline. Maybe blotting it then going over the top lip with a redliner will help smoothen it out?

@Buootiful i think you're right about a lip liner and blotting, but that's too much effort for me. I've tried a few lip liners from MAC and a couple other brands and just hate using them. So I swipe on my MAC lip primer and lipstick and go. I'm just that lazy lol :

Okay, as a novice, I will ask a stupid question. @sprocketta Is there any type of lipstick sharpener? Now I'm imagining a mini pack of lipsticks in a box with a sharpener in the back like a Crayola box. But in all seriousness, is there a beauty tool to help once the point is flat or just not as pointed? Thanks!

@ShortErica The best thing is to invest in a good lip brush! I have kind of flat lips and am not the kind of person who can swipe lipstick on from a bullet and have it look like I didn’t crawl off the set of “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.”

I’ve tried a lot of lip brushes and the best I’ve come across is the retractable one from NARS. It stays pretty stiff so you can get a good line, but has enough give to follow contours. I got mine at Nordstrom’s.
