100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

I truly have fallen off lately with the holidays - been so crazy and I’ve found myself too busy to put any makeup on during holiday prep, or I’ll grab a repeat gloss in a pinch. I’m back to work tomorrow so I’m hoping to rejoin at day 22 out of the 50 (I don’t have 100 lippies ... yet...). That being said, I went in today to redeem my 250 points as a bday gift and noticed this little guy was a 100pt reward. The Bite Matte Lip Crayon in Pastille. Looks to be the mini size, so I’m wondering if those are being discontinued. The product page only lists 3 colors, and I’m sure there were more before. Anyways, match made in heaven, I couldn’t resist! I know, my nails are tragic LOL I’m going later this week

Day 83. Last day of 2018.

  

Clinique in Blushing Pop, I believe I got it as some sort of reward. A nice pinkish-nude lippie, very creamy. Nothing special in terms of colour or staying power, just a simple good neutral lipstick. 

Day 84. Welcome 2019!

 

The pic leaves much to be desired. Well, that's how I look after changing a tire in the rain, soaking wet, the day before. To ring in the New Year in some nicer way I decided to wear some new, never-opened items, so here is Charlotte Tilbury in Pillow Talk, that I got as a reward. I really like the colour -- it has the perfect balance between pink and nude for me, and is quite moisturizing, but doesn't last very long.

The story of how I got into makeup lies behind this one:

In the midst of her wedding planning a while back, my sis needed to find her perfect wedding lipstick. At the time, I had next to nothing in the way of cosmetics other than few ancient drugstore items...I knew nothing of makeup and didn't care about it either 😯 She dragged me into Ulta one day to help her, but I was pretty useless, so I left her to the mercy of an SA and started wandering. Then I happened upon the CLEARANCE rack, which spoke directly to my cheapskate, bargain hunting soul, and a new interest was ignited 🤣 This is one of my finds from that day, and I will hold on to it forever (ok, until it turns, which might not be long considering I bought it on clearance three years ago this spring, and Lord only knows how long it had been there lol).

And while I do love makeup now, for me it's still about finding the deal. Mostly. I have to remind myself of that with some of the new releases or LE items sometimes 😋

I don't think these are in production anymore, but it's a gorgeous high pigment gloss. One coat coverage, no streaks or patchiness, not sticky, super comfy. It's a gloss, so the wear time isn't great, but it's still worth while to have around.

(Not sure what the Mauva references, because it's certainly not mauve in the least...a warm, rusty red is more like it)
