100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

@cianni Oh man, BTS kills my eyeballs. Even if it doesn’t flake into my eyes, something about it makes my eyes burn if I wear it longer than an hour. Sometimes the reaction happens within the first 30 minutes of wear. 😞 It’s a bummer because BTS really does give me a falsies look. But I cannot handle that stuff. The Milk Kush mascara also makes my eyes burn, plus it flakes a lot on me. So does Estée Lauder Double Wear mascara—and I get an immediate bad reaction to that one. Hourglass Caution doesn’t burn, but it does flake a bit, and I lost the tips of a few lashes while removing it 😡—they broke right off. (Glad I had the mini instead of the full size!) 

Other mascaras I can wear with no irritation that actually enhance my lashes (though they’re not as good as this CT one): NARS Climax Mascara Explicit Black, LANCôME - GRANDIÔSE - Wide-Angle Fan Effect Mascara (I still like this one a lot for volume, and I love the gooseneck wand), and tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes™ 4-in-1 Mascara Black which is nice but flakes more than I expected. A few others don’t hurt my eyes but also do next to nothing for my lashes, including GUERLAIN Maxilash Volumizing and Curling Mascara 01 Noir which doesn’t work as well as Lancôme Grandiose, plus it’s scented which is kinda dumb. I mean, who wants scented lashes? And I can smell it when I wear it. Ugh. Anyway, I hope you find a new pain-free mascara that works wonders for you!

Day 37: YSL Tatouage Couture Matte Stain in 7 Nu Interdit. I had my eye on this one ever since I saw it was Kaushal’s favorite nude lip (beauty Youtuber). At first I couldn’t tell if I saw any color but when I move around in different lighting and I saw it. Very flattering, fast drying pinky nude. Feels weightless on the lips! I might have a copy of this somewhere else who knows but I still really like it haha. Also love the applicator, makes it easy to apply. Only con is the fragrance YSL puts in their stuff but at least it doesn’t linger that long. Overall happy with it!

@SnugglePuggle94 the perfect “your lips but better” shade 🤗 I like the YSL Tatouage formula too, but I agree about the fragrance. I don’t find fragrance at all necessary, especially lip products haha. Oh well, it does fade fast so it’s not too big of a deal!

I woke up feeling like I'd been run over by a Mack truck today (ugh whyyy?). I figured I'm not gonna get any purdier even after the patches, so why not use them as camouflage for the pic instead 😂😂😂

Lipstick Queen Metal Red

Adding two red metallics to my collection back to back also prompted me to switch ALL of my red metals to determine if I had any dupes I could ditch. I was relieved they are all different enough to keep 😁

Day 40 is probably the most random lipstick I own. The tube is very non-descript, and I believe based on the impossibly tiny print on the bottom, that it is by annabelle. This is the shade Copper Chic. I think I’ve heard that Annabelle is drug-store brand only available in Canada. It’s creamy, comfortable and metallic. There is some transfer on my coffee cup, but you can’t tell on my lips that there is less product. The only downside is that it definitely has that “old drug store lipstick bullet” smell, if that makes sense? I have no other way to describe it haha! Sorry about my raccoon inspired eye look... I was in a rush and instead of just washing it off and trying again, I evened it out by adding (way too much) more 🙄

I decided to wear this because the day here is rainy, cold, and dreary. It’s MAC’s Simply Smoked Retro Matte Liquid Lip Color. My daughter liked it, but my fiancé was speechless. 🤣 Oh well... I went through my makeup and counted more than 20 eyeshadow palettes (that doesn’t count the singles) and 95 lipsticks. I separated the shadows in one train case and lipsticks in the other. I literally can’t fit anything else in either one. Guess I’m officially on a low- no-buy season. 😭

MAC Straight Fire from the Shiny Pretty Things collection 

I'm a little mad at myself over this one. Wasn't gonna buy it, talked myself out of it several times, then wound up caving anyways 😂 Ulta just had it listed as metallic and I didn't investigate any further like I should have...turns out it's their matte formula with shimmer, and I decluttered (most of) the rest of my MAC mattes because I found them a bit dry for my taste (kept my Nicopanda one for the adorable packaging lol). May keep it for the sleek silver case, which I adore, and I like the color enough that I may have to play at making it more comfy...I'm sure a gloss or balm topper would help.
