100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

It looks good on you, but I know the feeling, @divaknits.  I prefer colors that don't match my lips exactly.

The wilder the better @curlychiquita! Except KVD Daydreamer. That shade of light blue was totally unwearable until @WinglessOne gave me a suggestion that helped me be able to keep it. The nudes just have me down like the three days of blacks did, but I know I have something else somewhere.

@divaknits oh I feel you there. my boyfriend is the same way. I’ve just started a new technique that seems to help me get less irritated. I don’t ask for his opinion. Seems to work so far!

It would be great if he wasn’t so free with his opinion even if I don’t ask him. I’ll just have to wear what I want. I never criticize his artwork because I always see something good in it. I just wish he could appreciate what I do. I just can’t do what he wants all the time and I’ve just decided that I’m not.

@divaknits  But it’s a beautiful nude. 🙂 Plus, this could be a good opportunity to find interesting ways to wear your nudes. You mentioned toppers, and I’ve seen you post some lovely combos. Sometimes, blending or layering 2 nudes can create a neat new shade. Maybe you’ll find that certain nudes are perfect partners for certain bold eye looks. Maybe some nudes will change color or really pop when applied over a full base coat of lip liner. Could be fun to play with ‘em.

For whatever reason I never think about the fact that I layer my lipsticks from time to time @WinglessOne. I’ve got plenty of toppers. Some I’ve been wearing come from Fenty’s Kilowatt Foil highlighter palette. I never thought of that until my SJCP folks suggested it. It’s been great. (until that beautiful, yet dreadful liquid lipstick yesterday. Yeah it got tossed) I’ve got other toppers and maybe I can learn how to play with he nudes. Besides, this can help me get ready to play with my Anastasia Lip Palette I got in a weekly wow when it was half off. I’ve held off because the colors are so pristine. 😄

It’s still pretty on you @divaknits and it’s okay to wear lipstick shades that you like.  Lol I’ve been married 30 years and eventually I decided to do what pleases me when it comes to makeup, clothes and hair lol.  Nudes don’t have to be boring (you can pull out your brights and play with combinations of taking a bright and a nude and see what shade you achieve). That will count ❤️

You’re right @2manyperfumes. He knew what he was getting when he married me. Lol. Oh well. I’ll be glad when we get out of this hole so I can go shopping somewhere for lipstick. I’ve got ever shadow over the rainbow for eyeshadow but I can never have enough lipsticks. ❤️ 💄
